VFS Global Appoints Aditya Arora as Chief Operating Officer

VFS Global, the world's largest outsourcing and technology services specialist for governments and diplomatic missions, announced the appointment of Aditya Arora as its Chief Operating Officer.

 

Aditya will be responsible for managing the company's global operations, focusing especially on developing greater efficiencies and synergies across all its services and products for applicants and client governments.  He will be responsible for the transformation of systems and processes through increased technology leverage.

 

He reports to Zubin Karkaria, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of VFS Global, and will play a role in the overall strategic direction of the company as a member of VFS Global's Executive Board.

 

In a career spanning over 26 years, Aditya spent over two decades in the outsourcing industry. He has set up several large businesses with cross-cultural teams, across multiple verticals, bringing in strong deployment practices and an agile leadership in business development and planning, transformational practices, operational excellence, change, and risk management including governance and regulatory compliances.

 

Arora said that VFS Global is a shining example of how a visionary idea can be translated into a global enterprise through strong customer orientation, service innovation, and dedication to business excellence. I am excited to work with this outstanding team to build upon this legacy and shape its new growth phase.

 

Before joining VFS Global, he was the Chief Executive Officer of Teleperformance – India where he led a 75,000+ member workforce and managed one of the most profitable businesses from the Teleperformance group. Prior to joining Teleperformance, Aditya worked with Bank of America, CitiFinancial and Genpact.

 

Having completed two decades of operations last year, in this new growth phase, the company would fortify its core visa services business, as well as focus on the development of newer, higher-growth potential businesses like passport and consular services, eVisa and Identity & Citizen services which will now be led by Jiten Vyas, Chief Commercial Officer, who will additionally take care of strategic M&A as well. Jiten, who has been with the company since 2003, continues to be part of the Executive Board, reporting to Zubin Karkaria, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of VFS Global.

Chandigarh July 19, 2022:-सिंगल यूज़ प्लास्टिक के इंसानी जीवन में क्या दुष्प्रभाव हैं, इसको लेकर राजकीय आदर्श उच्च विद्यालय, सेक्टर 42 बी, चंडीगढ़ में एक जागरूकता मुहिम की शुरुआत की गई। जिसके अंतर्गत भावी युवा पीढ़ी को पर्यावरण को इससे होने दुष्प्रभाव से अवफत करवाया गया। इसको लेकर स्कूल प्रधानाचार्य श्रीमती नवदीप कौर के नेतृत्व और स्थानीय पार्षद जसबीर सिंह बंटी की अध्यक्षता में स्कूल के सभी छात्रों, अध्यापकों तथा अतिथिगणों द्वारा सिंगल यूज प्लास्टिक के बैन पर शपथ ली गई । विद्यालय के इको क्लब तथा विशेष आवश्यकता वाले बच्चों के माध्यम से सिंगल यूज प्लास्टिक बैन करने हेतु एक विशेष कार्यक्रम भी इस अवसर पर आयोजित किया गया। इस मौके पार्षद जसबीर सिंह बंटी द्वारा स्कूल परिसर में मिड डे मील की क्वालिटी की भी चेकिंग की गई। साथ ही साथ स्कूल प्रांगण में पौधरोपण भी किया गया। इस अवसर पर आर सी डब्ल्यु ए के राज कुमार शर्मा सहित पवन सिंगला जी भी उपस्थित थे।

 विशेष आवश्यकता वाले बच्चों द्वारा कविता वाचन तथा नृत्य आदि द्वारा बेहतरीन प्रदर्शन किया गया। तत्पश्चात स्वरमणि सहायक संस्था से रोहित द्वारा तथा स्थानीय पार्षद द्वारा बच्चों को सिंगल यूज प्लास्टिक के प्रयोग पर बैन लगाने के लिए जागरूक किया गया तथा इसके भयावह परिणामों से परिचित भी करवाया गया।

जसबीर सिंह बंटी ने कहा कि प्लास्टिक हमारी हेल्थ को डायरेक्ट और इनडायरेक्ट दोनों तरीकों से प्रभावित करता है। प्लास्टिक सदियों तक डीकंपोज नहीं होता है और इससे वॉटर पॉल्यूशन, एयर पॉल्यूशन और सॉइल पॉल्यूशन होता है। इसकी वजह से लोगों को कई तरह की परेशानियों का शिकार होना पड़ता है। बड़ी मात्रा में प्लास्टिक समुद्र में पहुंच जाती है और समुद्र के जीव जंतु प्लास्टिक निगल लेते हैं। समुद्र से निकाली गई मछलियों और अन्य सीफूड को खाने से प्लास्टिक केेे टुकड़े इंसानों के पेट तक पहुंच सकते हैं और आंतों में ब्लॉकेज पैदा कर सकते हैं।

कई बार खानेे पीने की चीजों की पैकिंग में केमिकल्स का इस्तेमाल किया जाता है, जिसकी वजह से लोगों की इम्यूनिटी पर बुरा असर पड़ता है। सभी लोगों को प्लास्टिक के कंटेनर्स में खाने पीने के सामान की पैकिंग करने से बचना चाहिए और प्लास्टिक की बोतल के बजाय पानी के लिए बांस या कांच की बोतल का इस्तेमाल करना चाहिए।

5 Days Integrated Yoga and Ayurveda Wellness Awareness Camp Starts at Govt. College of Yoga

A 5 days integrated yoga and Ayurveda wellness awareness camp was inaugurated at Govt. College of Yoga Education and Health, Sector 23A, Chandigarh under the RUSA scheme.

The chief guest of the occasion was Prof. Lakhbir Singh, Assistant Project Director , RUSA . 

The principal of the college Dr. Sapna Nanda while welcoming the chief guest and the public gave a detailed view about the importance of integrated program.

The chief guest in his address explained about the relevance of yoga and Ayurveda and its relation to the human consciousness with the help of Sanskrit sutras.

The Ayurveda sessions in the awareness camp will be taken by Smt. Shyam Priya who is a renowned wellness expert and yoga sessions will be taken by various instructors of the college. The coordinator of the program is Mr. Kulwant Singh. On the first day, the camp was attended by around 100 participants.

The camp will be beneficial for the yoga professionals as well as Ayurveda experts. The program will be live on the college YouTube channel.

MCC Starts Capacity Building Workshop for Its Employees

Chandigarh, July 18, 2022:- The Municipal Corporation Chandigarh through its Capacity Building Center started its first batch of training of sanitation workers under Capacity Building component of SBM U 2.0 (Swachh Survekshan-2023) at Mahila Bhawan, Sector 38, here today.

In the training, session and technical experts have taken sessions on six major areas including Solid Waste Management, Source Segregation, Prevention of Sexual Harassment Act, Disaster Management and its demo with sanitation workers, COVID behaviour and protocol, Social Security schemes, Financial Inclusion.

In addition to that all the sanitation workers have undergone medical screen by a team deputed by Health Deptt, Chd Adm which comprised basic screening along with TB and HIV testing and counselling. All the participants were given Certificate of Participation at the training center.

During the training, SHGs and Street Vendors were engaged too with a view on converging DAY NULM And SBM with respect to promotion of Bartan Bhandar run by SHGs in view of Zero Waste Event.

सावन का पहला सोमवार:द लास्ट बेंचर और एन आर आई दंपत्ति ने लगाया खीर मालपुए का लँगर

Chandigarh July 18, 2022:-चंडीगढ़ की समाजसेवी संस्था द लास्ट बेंचर और एन आर आई कपल के आपसी सहयोग से आज सावन के पहले सोमवार के उपलक्ष्य में खीर और मालपुए का लँगर लगाया गया। यह लँगर सेवा सेक्टर 19 ए मध्य मार्ग स्थित प्राचीन  काली माता मंदिर के सामने लगाया गया। इस अवसर पर द लास्ट 

बेंचर की प्रेजिडेंट सुमिता कोहली, पूर्व मेयर आशा जसवाल, रीटा नंदा, अमिता मित्तल, संध्या धाम, अनु सिंगला, डेजी महाजन सहित शशि बाला और अलमस्त जसजोत भी उपस्थित थे, जिन्होंने इस लँगर सेवा को तन मन से निभाया।

लँगर सेवा शुरू करने से पहले देवाधिदेव महादेव भगवान शिव की पूजा अर्चना और आरती की गई।

शिवलिंग पर दूध और पुष्प अर्पित कर समाज के कल्याण की मंगल कामना की गयी। भगवान शिव को भोग लगाने के बाद खीर मालपुए शिव भक्तों और आम जन में बांटे गए। लोगों ने भी भोले का प्रसाद समझ इसे ग्रहण किया।

श्रावण मास का पहला सोमवार: सनातन मंदिर धर्म सभा सेक्टर 46 ने लगाया खीर मालपुड़े का लंगर

सावन माह के पहले सोमवार के अवसर पर श्री सनातन धर्म मंदिर सेक्टर 46 मंदिर कमेटी की ओर से मंदिर प्रांगण में खीर माल पुड़े का लंगर लगाया गया I जिसे भक्तों ने श्रध्दापूर्वक ग्रहण किया ।

मंदिर के पुजारी पंडित राहुल ने बताया कि सावन माह की शुरुआत 14 जुलाई 2022 से हो गयी है। आज सावन मास का पहला सोमवार है। इस बार सावन में विशिष्ट संयोग बन रहे हैं। आज पहले सोमवार को सुबह रुद्राभिषेक के साथ शिव पुराण कथा के साथ पूरा दिन मंदिर में पूजा पाठ का सिलसिला जारी रहा। मंदिर में श्रावण माह के पहले सोमवार के होने के चलते दिन भर  माथा टेकने वाले भक्तों का तांता लगा रहा। भक्तो ने श्रद्धाभाव से अपने इष्ट महादेव भोले शंकर पर दूध और पुष्प अर्पित कर अपने परिवार और समस्त समाज की भलाई की मनोकामना की वही भक्तों ने खीरपुड़े के लंगर का प्रसाद ग्रहण किया।मंदिर कमेटी की ओर से प्रत्येक सोमवार को सवेरे 6 बजे से लेकर रात्रि 8 बजे तक खीर मालपुड़े का लंगर लगाया जाएगा।

श्री सनातन धर्म मंदिर कमेटी के प्रधान जतिंदर भाटिया ने बताया कि भगवान शिव के प्रिय मास सावन माह की शुरुआत 14 जुलाई, गुरुवार से हो गई थी। वहीं 18 जुलाई को पहला सोमवार पड़ा है। हिंदू धर्म की मान्यताओं के अनुसार, सावन के महीने में भगवान शिव की विधिवत पूजा करने से हर एक मनोकामना पूर्ण हो जाती है। इसके साथ ही सुख-समृद्धि की प्राप्ति होत है। हिंदू पंचांग के अनुसार, इस साल सावन सोमवार पूरे 4 पड़ रहे हैं। जिसमें आज पहला सावन सोमवार है। बाबा भोलेनाथ की कृपा पाने के लिए भक्त सावन में सोमवार का व्रत रखते हैं। सावन के पहले सोमवार में काफी विशिष्ट योग बन रहे हैं। 

मंदिर कमेटी की ओर से मंदिर परिसर में श्रावण  मास के प्रत्येक सोमवार को सुबह 6 बजे से रत 8 बजे खीरपूड़े का लंगर लगाया जा रहा है I उन्होंने बताया कि सावन मास के आज पहले सोमवार को सभा की ओर से खीर मालपुड़े का लँगर लगाया गया है,  जिसे भगवान शिव के भक्तों ने श्रद्धा से ग्रहण किया।

आज लगाए गए लंगर के मौके पर कमेटी के सदस्य सुशील सोबत, धर्मपाल गुप्ता, डी डी शर्मा, राकेश सेठी,आर के आनंद सहित बी आर सहवाल, ओ पी सचदेवा और पंडित राहुल, पंडित हरि, पंडित गोपाल और पंडित शैलेंद्र व सदस्यों ने लंगर की सेवा में अपना हाथ बंटाया ।

Chandigarh Congress to Intensify Its Agitational Programs against Anti-People and Anti-Constitution Actions of Modi Govt

Chandigarh Congress is going to intensify its agitational programs in the coming days against anti-people and anti-constitution actions of Modi government, which are  weakening the country with every passing day.

A decision to this effect was taken in a meeting of senior party activists held at Congress Bhawan, Sector 35 Chandigarh under the leadership of Harish Chaudhary, General Secretary, All India Congress Committee.  Harmohinder Singh Lucky, President Chandigarh Congress presided over.

It was unanimously resolved in the meeting that the Chandigarh Congress will organize a series of protest marches and Dharnas during the next 30 days in various parts of the city to highlight the complete failure of Modi government in reigning in the galloping inflation in the country. The first of such protest marches shall be held in Mauli Jagran tomorrow. The local leadership of the party and the active workers alongwith the residents of the area have been mobilized to ensure that the voice of the ordinary people reaches the callous government, loud and clear.

Further, the congress leaders uneqivocally condemned the Enforcement Directorate for harrassing the Congress leaders for political reasons and it was decided that the party shall hold a massive protest march on 21 July 2022 to show its dissapproval of  unwarranted and unnecessary summoning of Sonia Gandhi, the acting President of the Congress party. The part workers shall begin their march towards office of the Enforcement Directorate in sector 18 Chandigarh to coincide with the time when the Congress president reaches the ED office in New Delhi.

The leaders also noted with appreciation that due to the glorious freedom struggle and subsequent Nation building endeavors under the leadership of Congress Pary, the country has entered 75th year of its independence. leadership. To commemorate this achievement,  the Chandigarh Congress shall hold rallies in different parts of the city for a week,  beginning from 09 August, 2022, the quit India movement day, covering 75 kilometers. Speaking on the occasion, Harish Chaudhary, General Secretary AICC said that this is ironical for the country that those who did not participate  in the freedom struggle are giving sermons in Nationalism and those who made huge sacrifices to bring freedom are being hounded and harrassed by the current government.

Finally, it was decided that Chandigarh Congress will participate in Rahul Gandhi led 3500 kilometer long Bharat Jodo Yatra, as it reaches near Chandigarh. The idea of Bharat Jodo Yatra was conceived during the recent Chintan shivir in Udaipur to unite the country in the face of divisive policies of Modi Government.

Rtn Vinod Kapoor in his address revealed that already with the health of the education department of Chandigarh Administration, special initiatives have been taken in the 46 government schools where free counseling shall be provided on menstrual hygiene  and sanitary napkins would be distributed to girls in class 6^th onwards.

The club shall also be providing free HPV vaccine to prevent cervical cancer among girls in class 6^th to 10^th very soon, besides offering special scholarships to bright children but from economically-challenged background for their studies, books and uniform, etc.
