Chandigarh 26^th June:- S Raghupathy, Deputy Director General, CII & in-charge, IGBC has been re-elected as Chair of World Green Building Council (WorldGBCs) - Asia Pacific Network (APN) for a second term. S Raghupathy's next term will commence  from 1 July 2019 - 30 June 2023.

APN is a strong network of over 15 Countries in the region and works closely with the stakeholders in identifying new growth opportunities, which in turn will facilitate the adoption and promotion of green buildings and green built-environment across the globe.

Indian Green Building Council (IGBC)  became one of the Founding Members of WorldGBC in early 2000 and since then is playing a catalytic role in the spread & growth of global green building movement. IGBC has demonstrated that green buildings make good business and constructing a green building is technically feasible and economically viable. As a result of concerted efforts, IGBC has facilitated India  become one of the top Countries in the world in terms of largest registered green building footprint with various types of projects adopting IGBC green building rating system.

Expressing delight over the re-election, V Suresh, Chairman, IGBC underlined that, S Raghupathy's second term at APN will enable India to further advance the green building movement in India and facilitate sharing of best practices/ success stories among APN member Countries.

15th Annual Conference of Complex Cardiovascular Catheter Therapeutics (C3) Summit Held

Chandigarh 25^th June:- Continuing with its legacy of providing the world with best in class medical education, PGIMER successfully delivered one live transmission of a complex coronary angioplasty case amongst a group of eminent scholars, who were attending a reputed interventional cardiology conference held at Orlando, USA.  A large number of international audiences witnessed the live case, which was transmitted from the catheterization lab, Department of Cardiology, PGI. This was the 15^th annual conference of Complex Cardiovascular Catheter Therapeutics (C3) summit held at Orlando, USA. The conference is one of the prestigious and recognized global interventional cardiology meetings in the world and is attended by about 1500 international experts.   

Professor Dr. Rajesh Vijayvergiya with his team from the cardiology department performed a complex and technically challenging coronary angioplasty case. It was a case of left main coronary artery disease, which got blocked following stenting, a procedure performed at outside hospital 9-months back.

Prof. Vijayvergiya commented that the cases of left main coronary angioplasty are technically challenging and require great technical expertise and experience, along with the use of advanced hardware. The case was extensively discussed & appreciated well amongst the global experts, who were witnessing the live case. The panelists specifically mentioned about the learning tips and importance of imaging in treating such cases to the participants gathered from all across the world.

Prof. Vijayvergiya commented that PGIMER, Chandigarh is amongst handful centers in India, where such kind of complex procedures are successfully performed on regular basis with the use of advanced imaging modalities like intra-vascular ultrasound (IVUS) and optical coherence tomography (OCT).  This clearly establishes the footprints of PGIMER as one of the most prominent tertiary care institute in India, which is at par with leading international institutes in the cardiology field.

Himesh Reshammiya’s Fear Revealed on the Sets of Superstar Singer

He was accompanied by his elder brother and his best friend Sultan (Murga). Mohammed Fazil has 9 brothers and sisters and considers Sultan to be his 10th sibling. The funniest thing is that Fazil doesn't remember the name of his siblings. Mohammad Fazil found Sultan in his father's biryani shop and saw a friend in him and brought him home. He shares a great bond with his best friend Sultan (Murga) and treats Sultan as a family member. Sultan wakes him up every day in the morning for his singing practice.

During the auditions of Superstar Singer, Sony Entertainment Television's upcoming kids singing reality show, Judge Himesh Reshammiya's biggest fear was revealed when he was requested for a selfie.  Mohammad Fazil requested Judge Himesh Reshammiya to hold Sultan in his hands but Himesh Reshammiya refused and mentioned that he fears animals. Then, Fazil requested a selfie with his best friend Sultan and Judge Himesh Reshammiya even though he was scared, yet came on stage with anxiety to click a picture with Sultan. After witnessing his performance Judge Javed Ali complemented his confidence and his way of singing the song so brilliantly. Sultan also kissed Captain Salman Ali after Fazil's performance.

When reached out to Judge Himesh Reshammiya he shared that he is extremely scared of animals and like to maintain a safe distance from them. When Mohammed Fazil asked him to hold his pet, Sultan in his hands, he was scared and jumped from his seat. ‘Artistic Dance Studio Organizes Fusion Naach

Chandigarh 24^th June:- A 20-day summer workshop organised by the 'Artistic Dance Studio, Mohali', concluded with an enthralling dance event, 'Fusion Naach' at Pracheen Kala Kendra, sector 71.

The dance event was organised, in an endeavour to provide a platform to kids and youngsters in the field of dance, where from the age group of 3 years old to 65 years old gave a spellbinding performance.

On this occasion MTV Fame artist and Mr Punjab 2017 finalist, Jaspreet Singh was the Chief Guest. The co-founder of 'Artistic Dance Studio' and renowned choreographer Jaiveer Singh and Creative Director of the studio Shubhra Chadha were also present at the event.

The participants gave a spectacular performance on various dance forms like, Classical, Bharatnatyam, Contemporary, Bhangra, Giddha, Hiphop and Bollywood etc. During the event the kids also showcased beautiful canvass paintings, clay modelling and art &craft materials were made by them at the summer workshop being held from 3 June to 22 June at Artistic Dance Studio.

Speaking on this occasion, Jaivir Singh and Shubhra Chadha said that today's period is full of competition and challenges. And to tackle these challenges in our studio, we motivate our students to move forward in a positive way and organize dance events to give them a platform to showcase their talents. So that they can do well in their dance field and can give wings to their dreams.

They also said that we frequently organise dance workshop in our studio, where renowned choreographer from national and international level conduct workshop and interact with the students.

Jaiveer Singh said that recently we have launched our studio in Gurugram, where dance experts give training to the students. And very soon we will launch our another studio in Chandigarh and Panchkula on the lines of Mohali studio.

Audience was left awestruck by the Energetic Bhangra performance, performed by the Artistic Dance Studio faculty members. Bright, colourful attire and energetic dance performed to rhythmic clapping mesmerised the audience and took the performance to the next level.

During the event, Prabhleen was awarded with girl of the summer camp, while Shoreya was awarded with boy of the summer camp and Aradhya felicitated with little champ of the summer camp. Chief Guest, Jaspreet Singh also felicitated all the performers with the certificates.
