Open Trial for Cricket Tournament at 16 Stadium on Sunday December 09

Chandigarh 07th December:-  To provide big time exposure to the budding cricketers and to give them a platform to showcase their full potential, prestigious tournament for under-14 boys is coming up shortly by the name of AG Junior Challenger Trophy 2018 (UNDER-14 BOYS). The tournament will be organized by AG Sports World.

According to the official of the AG Sports World, the aim of the tournament is to provide big time exposure to the budding cricketers and to give them a platform to showcase their full potential. The open trials for this tournament will be held on 09th December, 2018, at sector 16 Cricket Stadium Chandigarh. The reporting time for the players is 9:00 am sharp. The players are requested to bring the Photostat copies of their Passport, Adhar card, Date of Birth Certificate. The selected players will be taking part in this tournament.

AIU North Zone Vice Chancellor’s Meet-2018: To Be Held on Dec 07 & 08 at Chandigarh University

Chandigarh 06th December:- Prof Sandeep Sancheti, President, Association of Indian Universities (AIU), said that with changing times and advancements in technology the academic model being adopted by universities across India needs to be revamped accordingly. He was speaking during the press conference at Chandigarh to brief the media persons about the upcoming annual AIU North Zone Vice chancellor's meet-2018.

Professor Sandeep Sancheti said that the annual meeting of the vice chancellors would be held at Chandigarh University, Gharuan on 7th and 8th December in which Vice Chancellors of more than 100 states, central, deemed and private Universities would be taking part. The theme of the annual vice chancellors meet is 'Higher education in India: Opportunities and Challenges". Prof. Furqan Qamar, Secretary General, AIU and Dr. R.S Bawa, Vice Chancellors, Chandigarh University was also present during the Press conference.

While giving details Prof Sandeep Sancheti said that the aspirations of today's Youth and Industry have changed significantly which has resulted in bringing the academic institutions and universities together on one platform so that a decision can be made to bring reforms in the current education system especially in higher education. He further added that universities are no longer considered to be just a degree imparting institutions but they should be recognized as centre of skill development where employability, inter-personal or entrepreneurial skills can be incubated amongst the youth so that they can match up to the expectations of today's changing global scenario.

Prof. Furqan Qamar said that the funding from Indian Government for supporting Higher Education is continuously on a decline, the challenges before Universities towards realizing Research Dimension of Universities is immense. Similarly attracting International students is an inevitable need for better global positioning of Indian Universities. He further added that this meet aims to deliberate on a plethora of issues concerning the 'Higher Education in India: Opportunities and Challenges' with specific reference to global trends, national preparedness and regional requirements in Higher Education. The meet has stupendous significance as a large number of Vice Chancellors from various Universities in North Zone are expected to participate in the deliberations.

While interacting with the media persons Dr. R.S Bawa said that the significance of AIU in today's' scenario is extremely important as it is one of the premier representative body of Indian Universities where we can discuss the important issues that are concerning higher education. It is important and significant to bring reforms in higher education with changing times so that universities in India are globally competent and hence attractive for students all over the world.

Babbu Maan's Punjabi Film "BANJARA–The Truck Driver" Releases on December 07

Chandigarh 05th December:-  The versatile singer-actor of Punjabi Entertainment Industry whose songs have received not just national but international acclaim as well, and the one who has always backed meaningful cinema Babbu Maan is back to amuse his fans as an actor in 'Banjara–The Truck Driver' releasing on 7th December. The film is being made under the banners of Rana Ahluwalia Productions Maan Films, American System Motion Pictures, its Producers are Rana Ahulwalia, Babu Singh Maan and Harjit Mander and is being presented by Ohri Productions and is being distributed worldwide by Ohri Productions.

Last seen in Baaz (2014) as a police inspector, Babbu Maan is making a comeback in this film helmed by Mushtaq Pasha. Mushtaq Pasha-one talented filmmaker in our industry who also happens to be the recipient of the prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke award.

Bankrolled by Rana Ahluwalia, Sardar Babu Singh Maan and Harjeet Mander, the trailer of the 'Banjara' has already been released. The film is penned down by ace screenplay writer Dheeraj Rattan and the dialogues are written by Surmeet Mavi (fame, Punjab 1984). 

Talking about the role, Babbu Maan, said that in this film he is playing the son, the grandson and the grandfather in a triple role. However, the film will not see him agein, as he is playing all these characters in the young avatar of their respective times. The film will highlight eras of 1947, 1984 and 2018 showing love interests of three generations in their younger days.

Throwing further light on the plot of the film Director Mushtaq Pasha, said that what's shown is that romance changes with time, even the clothes, manners, looks and etiquettes of actors but what remains the same is that 'Banjara -The Truck driver."  

Along with Babbu Maan, the cast of the movie includes Rana Ranbir, Shradha Arya, Rana Ahluwalia, Jia Mustafa, Sara Khatri, Gurpreet Kaur Bhangu, Malkeet Rauni and Parkash Gadhu.

The film is also a comeback project of Babbu, last seen in Baaz in 2014. Reportedly, Babbu Mann had to undergo several rounds of makeup, for hours, to prepare for the sequence. Babbu's screen names in the film are Harnek Singh (1947), Nachhatar Singh (1984) and Binder Singh (2018).

The Music has been prepared by none other than Babbu Maan himself along with the lyrics too.

मंडल अध्यक्ष ने पत्र लिखकर किरण खेर आग्रह किया कि इस मसले को लेकर चीफ इंजीनियर मुकेश आनंद को आदेश दें कि जल्द से जल्द फाइल क्लियर कर इस काम को जल्द से जल्द शुरू करवा कर  मलोया तथा धनास को कंजौली पाइप लाइन से जोड़ा जाए, ताकि आने वाले दिनों में पानी की समस्या ना रहे

5th Blood Donation Camp organized: 129 Units of Blood Donated

Chandigarh 05th December:-  5th Blood Donation camp was organized by Kuljit Singh Mintoo in which 129 units were donated. This camp was dedicated to Thalassemic children .In this camp team of Doctor was from PGI.

Kuljit Singh Mintoo said that in 2 Dec 2013 Bonemarro transplant was done  of his son Karamveer singh at CMC Ldh Dr Joseph John done this Transplant. His elder son Mansaheb Singh donate his bone marrow to his younger brother.

Today Mansaheb also Donate blood for 2nd time . This camp was organized to thank God for success full transplant.

Dr Aman Bhatia, owner of Dentafix, said that the facilities like treating oral cancer and gum Implant will be provided under one roof in the clinic. Poor patient will be treated on very nominal charges. He added that clinic will cater free pain management to the needy poor patients.

Dr Aman Bhatia's wife Dr. Priyanka is an oral cancer specialist and he himself having expertise in gum implant. The clinic has five member team of super specialist team.

In Haryana too, the company witnessed a 31% growth in the individual new business premium from Rs 11 crore for H1FY2017-18 to Rs 15 crore for H1FY2018-19.

The company holds a strong presence in North India and has been one of the leading private life insurers in the region. For H1FY2018-19, the life insurer has covered 7,231 number of lives in Punjab and 14,804 in Haryana. Its average ticket size in Punjab witnessed a 58% growth from Rs 68,722 to Rs 108,300 (including single premium policies) in H1FY2018-19. In Haryana too, Bajaj Allianz Life Insurance recorded a 10% growth in its average ticket size from Rs 51,187 to Rs 56,141 for the same period.

Bajaj Allianz Life Insurance continues to grow at a faster rate than the industry with a 12.7% uptick in the individual rated new business premium, while the industry grew by 9.9% and the private life insurers' growth stood at 11.4% in H1FY2018-19.
