Chuhiya’s Tryst with Kaan Katiya Gang in SAB TV’s Chidiyaghar

Chandigarh 01st March:- Chuhiya (Trishikha Tripathi) and Titli (Sheetal Pandya) encounter some goons from the Kaan Katiya Gang on their way to the market. The men intercept them and eve tease Titli. Chuhiya who is witness to all the misdoings decides to raise her voice against the goons, but they are unaffected and continue to misbehave with Titli. Chuhiya is determined to teach them a lesson after the incident, so that no other woman goes through the same ordeal.

Chuhiya decides to speak to Babuji (Rajendra Gupta) about the whole fiasco, but realises that she will have to wait as he is out of town.  After much deliberation she decides to confide in Mayuri (Shafaq Naaz) and ask her for help. Chuhiya also decides against involving Ghotak, Gomukh and Kapi as she fears the gang notorious for cutting off people's ears might attack them. Chuhiya and Mayuri soon get Koyal (Aditi Sajwan) involved in their plan to teach the Kaan Katiya Gang a lesson.

 Trishikha Tripathi who plays Chuhiya in SAB TV's Chidiyaghar said that Chuhiya is on a mission in the upcoming track when she encounters some goons and decides to stand up against them. She along with Mayuri and Koyal decide to teach them a lesson so that they do not misbehave with any woman ever again. The audience will have to wait and watch whether the women of Chidiyaghar succeed in their mission that too without involving their husbands and Babuji.

 

 

Nana Patekar Steals the Show at Lux Zee Cine Awards 2016

The actor par excellence who has proved that he not only shines in a performance but is a real life hero too, Nana Patekar, who is known to stay away from filmy functions, was seen at the recently held Zee Cine Awards 2016 representing Marathi Cinema with the awards being India's first Integrated National Awards show. The charismatic actor stood apart from all the glamorous attendees in his ethnic kurta and white pyjama. He not only walked the Red Carpet of Lux Zee Cine Awards but also went onto perform with Parineeti and Anil Kapoor taking the entertainment quotient notches higher for the evening.

The younger talent brigade, be it host Shahid Kapur or the svelte and talented Parineeti Chopra, were floored by Nana's exuberance, humility, honesty and witty comments.

Nana said that he had danced with Shahid but he would like to have an opportunity to dance with you (Parineeti) someday. Parineeti thrilled to bits and being a huge admirer of his work did not keep it for another day and said that let's make it happen tonight as she would love to dance with him.  Music played and Parineeti danced with the legendary Nana Patekar with Anil Kapoor also joining them.  Little did they know they were creating memories for a lifetime.

It couldn't get bigger as two of the world's biggest international icons, Nana Patekar and Anil Kapoor, got together on the stage of Zee Cine Awards. The warmth and regard that Anil displayed towards Nana with their camaraderie going back decades bowled over audiences.

MCM organizes Workshop on Safety and Health in Working Environment

Chandigarh 01st March:- The Botany department of MCM DAV College for Women organized a workshop on safety and Health in working environment, as per UGC directive. Dr. Prince Sharma, Professor, Department of Microbiology, Panjab University conducted the workshop.

The aim of the workshop was to sensitize the students under the programme - Occupational Safety and Health administration, (OSHA) the mission of which is to assure safe and healthy working conditions for working men and women by setting and enforcing standards and by providing training, outreach and assistance. Dr. Prince made the audience aware of the rights under OSHA and the procedure of making complaints regarding safety concerns at workplace.  The expert also answered the queries of the audience in an interactive session, where he talked about antibiotics, pesticide problem and GM crops.

MCM Principal Dr. Nisha Bhargava appreciated this initiative of the botany department to create awareness about occupational safety and health; adding that we should prioritize our safety and health and strive for a healthy environment.

 

Budget Focus on Growth of Agriculture,Farmers and Development of Rural India:Shilpa Divekar Nirula

The total expenditure incurred in the construction of the centre is 23 crore and 61 lakh rupees.

Saksham:An Effort of City Student Bringing Real Stories of City

Chandigarh 01st March:- An effort to present struggles of all society members, the tele-film Saksham- Everyone is Capable portrays the real life stories of a transgender, Haryanvi family's girl and a Muslim family all in one frame, where all these members are helping each other through many means. This movie is a dream of Chandigarh-based Snehil Sharma, director, Adi Shakti Theatres, who is a digital marketing expert and a dancer. Along with his team, he dreams of bringing back the times of tele-films.

Snehil Sharma shared that this is a non-commercial project, a joint venture of Adi Shakti and Inside Motion Pictures with the help of Institute of Technology and Future Trends. We would be able to release this film by May end. Snehil explained further that these characters are interlinked with each other and reveal the true fighting spirit of human beings. This movie is an amalgamation of drama, emotions, fights, struggles. Along with all these ingredients, in nut shell it is a mirror to the stereotypes of the society who often create hurdles in achieving the goals.

Editor and cinematographer Akhil Yadav further explained that every character in the film wants to fulfill his or her dream. "Aman, who plays a transgender in the movie actually went and lived with them to understand their problems and struggles. He added that it is inspired by the real-life story of a transgender, who actually wanted to become a bank manager. The movie is having support from kinner dera of Manimajra. Kajal and Simran who are transgenders of the dera are also playing pivotal roles.

Vanshika, who plays the character of a Haryanvi girl in the movie, shared that all character are real-life stories of people who struggled in pursuit of their dreams. I play a girl from a conservative Haryanvi Family who wanted to be a wrestler.

Rahul Singh, who plays an orphan in the movie said that there is a Muslim family in movie whose son wants to be dancer and daughter a doctor; their struggles and emotions are worth watching. His character wants to become an entrepreneur. 

Dr Ashok Utreja Select for Dr H S Shaikh Oration

Chandigarh 01st March:- Dr Ashok Utreja, Former Professor & Head Oral Health Sciences Center, PGI has been invited by the Indian Orthodontic Society to deliver the Dr H S Shaikh Memorial Oration at the 20th PG Convention to be held in Amritsar from 3rd to 6th March 2016.

The PG convention of Indian Orthodontic Society is an annual event and is attended by more than 1200 PG students undergoing the course of MDS (orthodontics) at nearly 120 Dental Colleges from all over India. The title of Dr Utreja's Oration would be "Cleft & Craniofacial Orthodontics" based on his lifetime work in the field of Cleft Rehabilitation. Dr H S Shaikh, in whose memory this oration is delivered, was one of the founder members of IOS, was the first Professor& Head of Orthodontics at Government Dental College Mumbai. He is often referred to as "Teacher of Teachers" and is fondly remembered by current orthodontists even after his demise nearly 20 years back.

Kendriya Arya Sabha to Celebrate 192nd Birth Anniversary of Maharishi Dayanand

Chandigarh 01st March:- Maharishi Dayanand Sarswati's 192nd birthday will be celebrated by Kendriya Arya Sabha at Arya Samaj, Sector 7, Chandigarh.  Regarding this a special meeting was held at Arya Samaj Sector 7-B Chandigarh.

President Ravinder Talwar said that this program will start from 2nd March and will conclude on March 6.   A grand Shobha Yatra will be held o 3rd march to mark the occasion, which will start from Arya Samaj, Sector 7, and passing through sectors 7, 8 Gurudwara, 17-18 Govt.Press light point and 18, it will be concluded at Arya Samaj, Sector 18.

He further said that the D.A.V. educational institutions and Arya Samaj organisations of Chandigarh, Panchkula, Mohali, Derabassi and Surajpur will participate in it with full zeal and zest. Well decorated horse riders with flags,scenic presentation  from the life of Swami Dayanand Sarswati, Vedas, yajna, patriotism, arya traditions, environmental purity , children with small flags bearing  Aum,distribution of vedik literature and a large number of vehicles of different models will make the Shobha Yatra remarkable.
