Grand Orientation Program Organized by Shemrock School for New AFPI Students

Mohali, Apr. 04, 2026:-Shemrock Senior Secondary School, Sector 69 organized an impressive orientation program to welcome the new students of the Maharaja Ranjit Singh Armed Forces Preparatory Institute (AFPI) and their parents. The event commenced with the lighting of the lamp, symbolizing the light of knowledge, followed by 'Vande Mataram' and the school's Shabad Gayan, which filled the atmosphere with spirituality.

It is noteworthy that under the patronage of the Punjab Government, students of the Maharaja Ranjit Singh AFPI (Sector 77) prepare to become military officers while completing their regular Class 11 and 12 education at Shemrock Senior Secondary School. Thanks to this Public-Private Partnership, over 186 students have been commissioned as officers in the Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force so far. As of December 2025, this number stood at 186, including cadets from the 157th Regular Course of the IMA. To date, approximately 289 cadets have joined the NDA and other premier defense training academies.

The event was presided over by the Chairman of the institution, A.S. Bajwa, and Principal Praneet Sohal. School Counselor Isha Sharma provided insights into the support system for students' mental and social development, while Senior Wing Coordinator Harjot Oberoi detailed the academic structure and available opportunities.

Addressing the students, Principal Praneet Sohal stated that our goal is not just to provide bookish knowledge, but to prepare youth who are mentally and physically strong for national service. I hope the new students will bring laurels to the institution and their parents by embracing discipline, hard work, and patriotism.

The program concluded with the National Anthem, leaving parents and students feeling motivated and confident for their new journey.
