Chandigarh Congress Holds Protest against the Unprecedented Hike in Petrol and Diesel Prices

Chandigarh June 11, 2021:-The Chandigarh Territorial Congress Committee today organised a protest against the unprecedented hike in petrol and diesel prices in the country in front of the two petrol pumps in Sector 21.       
        According to H S Lucky Chief spokesperson CTCC the protest was a part of the nationwide protests by the Congress party against the every day increase in prices of petrol and diesel which have now touched new heights. Prices of petrol have risen by 27 Rs and that of diesel by 25 rs in the last 13 months, the prices have been increased 47 times during this period he added. The protesters which included activists from the Congress, NSUI, Youth Congress, Mahila Congress, Seva Dal and INTUC made a human chain in front of the petrol pumps and were carrying placards and raised slogans against the BJP led central government for its failure to check the prices. The protestors were also joined by a large number of passerby's including women and students who demanded the immediate rollback in the prices of petrol and diesel. 
      Addressing the protestors Subhash Chawla President Chandigarh Congress said that the Modi government has failed on all fronts. The common man is suffering because of the ever rising prices. The economy of the country has taken a hit because of the misgovernance of the Modi government. He added that today every person is feeling cheated and let down because of the Bjp government's faulty decision and mishandling of the affairs of the nation. 
Various senior leaders of the party also addressed the protestors and criticised the indifferent attitude of the Modi government towards the problems of the common man. Congress leaders said that the petrol price has already made century and diesel will soon follow suit if thing remain the same.
