Powermen Union Hold Rallies & Demonstrations

Chandigarh 08th December:- The Electricity Employees of Chandigarh under the banner of U.T. Powermen Union Chandigarh held Rallies & Demonstrations before the various Electricity Officers in Chandigarh. The Rallies & Demonstrations was organized on the call given by the National Coordination Committee of Electricity Employees & Engineers. The Rallies were held in 10 places in same time which were addressed by various leaders of Union & sister organizations.

Gopal Datt Joshi General Secretary Union & Working Committee Member Electricity Employees Federation of India (EEFI) while addressing the Demonstration said the protest demonstrations are being held on the call of NCCOEEE.  The National Coordination Committee postponed the 8th Dec. strike in view of ongoing negotiations with the representatives of Govt. of India (Ministry of Power) & Labour regarding to stop the enactment process of Electricity (Amendment) Bill 2014 pending discussion with NCCOEEE as committed by Union Power Minister on 6th Nov. 2015 but decided to continue the process of Public conventions, meeting, Rally and all the form of agitation including protest rally and demonstration on today and further warn that the Electricity Employees & Engineers will go for one day strike on the day of placement of bill in parliament without further notice if the bill will be placed in parliament without discussion with the NCCOEEE.

Ram Sarup, President of the Union while strongly criticized the Govt. of India for its anti employees attitude equally blamed the Chandigarh Administration for adopting negative a and adamant attitude towards the demands of the U.T. Electricity Employees and warn that if the authorities remain fail to fulfillment the commitment then Union will also intensify its agitation in support of the pending demands of U.T. Electricity Employees.

The speaker appealed the employees to participate in 14th  Dec. 2015 Convention on the call of Employees Forum for Revocation termination order of Anganwari Workers leaders & withdrawal of false cases registered against leaders of coordination committee beside lifting of Section 144 from Chandigarh.
