PHD Chamber Welcomes Chandigarh’s New Industrial Policy

Chandigarh 02nd July:- Chairman, Chandigarh Committee, PHD Chamber,  Vikram Sahgal, while welcoming the New Industrial Policy for UT Chandigarh, said that the move to make Chandigarh a hub of pollution free and knowledge based industrial activities is very much in line with Chandigarh's heritage and character.

Vikram Sahgal said that deemed approval for the services like water connection, sewer connection, acknowledgement under MSMED Act, 2006, power connection, CST/TIN number, and license under Factories Act in a time bound manner shall bring in investment in Chandigarh. Self certification under various Acts of the Labour Law besides allowing applicants register themselves under MSMED Act industry department without paying any fee for setting up of new enterprises, would go a long way in encouraging the budding entrepreneurs in addition to multifold employment generation. He lauded that the upcoming Entrepreneur Development Centre (EDC) and the move to allow industrial warehouses. Moreover, the creation of online single window system would save a lot of time and effort. He added that the Policy indeed highlights Chandigarh Administration's keen and proactive approach to maximize production besides achieving higher productivity through modern and efficient work techniques and optimum utilization of available resources.

Madhu S Vij, Co-Chairman, Chandigarh Committee, PHD Chamber said that we are hopeful that the Micro & Small Enterprises Facilitation Council which has already started functioning in Chandigarh shall be helpful to the enterprise, since it is the implementation of Policy which qualifies or disqualifies it.
