Chandigarh 23rd January:- The Security Wing of the Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education & Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh organized 12TH Blood Donation Camp at Zakir Hall, Near Bhargava Auditorium, PGI, Chandigarh, on the occasion of Republic Day. The camp was inaugurated by Manohar Lal Khattar, Chief Minister, Haryana and was conducted by a team of doctors from the Department of Blood Transfusion PGI. Prof. Yogesh Chawla, Director, PGI, Sarvesh Kaushal, Chief Secretary, Government of Punjab, Roshan Lal, IAS, Additional Chief Secretary, Haryana, Anurag Aggarwal, Home Secretary, UT, Chandigarh, Arpit Shukla, IGP, Headquarter, Punjab, Prof. A.K. Gupta, Medical Superintendents of PGI, P.S. Chetan Rao, Dy. Director, PGI were among the senior officials who attended this camp to motivate and appreciate the volunteers.
The camp was conducted under the supervision of P.C. Sharma, Chief Security Officer, PGI and the officers of Security Wing. About 500 volunteers from various fraternity i.e. Doctors, Nurses, Technicians, Students, Security Personnel and officials from Punjab Police & CISF also donated the blood at this Camp. To boost the morale of donors, P.C. Sharma, Chief Security Officer & officer of Security Wing were among the first few donors who came forward to donate blood on this occasion. The donors were offered refreshment of tea, coffee, Cold drinks, Milk, Juice and seasonal fruits.
