Anjum Edges Anjali to Gold Medal: Wins 2 Gold & 3 Silver

Chandigarh 16th September:-- International Shooter Anjum Moudgil achieved another milestone when she defeated three-time Olympian Anjali Bhagwat to clinch the gold in women's air rifle in the 10th Masters shooting championship at the Dr. Karni Singh Range, Tughlakabad, on Sunday. Anjum Moudgil got 5 Medals out of Six Matched. She got 2 gold and 3 silver madals in women's air rifle and .22 rifles shooting in the 10th Sardar Sajjan Singh Sethi Masters Shooting Championship at Delhi. Another thing is in this Championship is that Anjum Got Silvers in Junior Matches and got Gold in Senior Matches.

While speaking to the Media here in Chandigarh Press Club, Anjum Moudgil said that she had warded off a stiff challenge from three-time Olympian Anjali Bhagwat to clinch the gold in women's air rifle in the 10th Masters shooting championship at the Dr. Karni Singh Range, Tughlakabad, on Sunday. Anjum, added that she shot 207.2 in the final to beat Anjali for the gold by 1.2 points. She led throughout the final, except for conceding a 0.2 point lead to Anjali after 14 shots. Anjali herself pipped Ayonika Paul by 0.2 point to stay in the race for the gold.

Anjum further said that she had qualified in the fourth place for the final, while the top three Ayonika Paul, Pooja Ghatkar and Mampi Das failed to land a medal. Anjali had placed sixth in qualification. National champion Apurvi Chandela qualified in the seventh place and stayed there. Anjum Moudgil  said that she is a B.A. Second Year student of D.A.V. College, Sector 11.
