Chandigarh, Apr. 13, 2026:-Under the ongoing Poshan Pakhwada celebrations, a series of awareness and activity-based programmes were successfully organized across UT Chandigarh to promote nutrition, health, and Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE).

At Mauli Colony Circle, play-based fun activities based on the ECCE theme were organized, engaging young children in joyful and interactive learning. A “Community Discussion on Play-Based Learning Activities” was conducted at Burail Circle to sensitize community members on the importance of early childhood stimulation and learning through play.

Similarly, at Dhanas Circle, play-based ECCE activities for children aged 3–6 years were organized and celebrated with active participation of children. Various creative and engaging activities such as hand painting, leaf painting, thread painting, drawing, alphabet learning, and fruit colouring were conducted. These activities aimed at fostering creativity, cognitive development, and fine motor skills among children in a fun-filled learning environment.

In addition to these major events, several minor activities were carried out under Poshan Pakhwada, including youth group meetings, promotion of millets, campaigns on backyard kitchen gardens, home visits for awareness on millet consumption, and promotion of Anganwadi Centres as learning centres. Awareness initiatives were also undertaken on early breastfeeding practices, nutrition for pregnant women through millets, growth monitoring of children, preschool education for 3–6 years, and promotion of institutional deliveries through home visits.
