Chandigarh, April 07, 2026:--The Office of the Controller of Communication Accounts (CCA), Punjab has been undertaking field visits across various districts in the State for physical verification of FTTH (Fibre to the Home) connections being provided under Amended BharatNet Programme funded through Digital Bharat Nidhi.
The verification exercise is aimed at assessing the status of service delivery and ensuring that high-speed internet services are being provided to households at affordable prices in line with the objectives of the programme. During the visits, CCA teams are interacting with subscribers and local stakeholders to obtain inputs on the quality, reach and effectiveness of the services being delivered.
The inputs received from users indicate that FTTH connectivity is playing a significant role in enabling access to online education, e-governance services, digital platforms and communication facilities. The availability of reliable internet connectivity is contributing towards improved socio-economic conditions, particularly in rural and remote areas.
The initiative aligns with the vision of the Hon’ble Prime Minister of ensuring “Internet for All” and strengthening digital infrastructure to bridge the digital divide. The efforts are also in line with the broader objective of providing internet access to every household and promoting inclusive digital growth.
The field verification exercise forms part of the continuous monitoring mechanism of CCA Punjab to ensure effective implementation of digital connectivity initiatives and seamless last-mile connectivity. CCA Punjab reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening digital infrastructure and ensuring that the benefits of government programmes reach every corner of the State.
