Opting to bat first after winning the toss, Uttar Pradesh posted a competitive total of 161/6 in their allotted 20 overs. The innings was anchored by Prahlad Singh Mawri who played a fluent knock of 51 runs off 32 balls which was studded with eight boundaries. He was well supported by Rishi Singh Sengar (38) and Mayur Shukla (25) . Ashwani Sharma (2/25) took the maximum share of wickets from the host side.
In reply, Chandigarh started steadily but failed to build momentum against a disciplined Uttar Pradesh bowling attack. Ashwani Sharma top-scored with 42 runs , but lacked support from the other end as wickets fell at regular intervals.
Mayur Shukla turned the game decisively in Uttar Pradesh’s favour with a sensational spell, claiming 4 wickets for just 13 runs in his four overs. He was well backed by Rishi Singh Sengar (2/27) and captain Rohit Kumar Singh (1/30). Chandigarh eventually managed 134/8 in 20 overs.
Man of the match Mayur Sharma was felicitated organizers Arshdeep Samar, Munish Atry, Tapin Malhotra, Barinder Rawat and others. Earlier BCCI's Cricket Administrator Sanjay Tandon spun the toss to kick off the match.
