Mohali, Feb.12, 2026:-When children hold a camera in their hands and compassion for the environment in their hearts, something extraordinary is bound to happen. A similar inspiring scene was witnessed at Shamrock Senior Secondary School, Sector 69, where a grand film festival titled "Stories for a Sustainable Future" was organized.
Under this banner, young filmmakers presented powerful short films conveying the message of saving the planet. The school campus resembled a vibrant film studio, echoing with creativity and environmental awareness. The inter-school competition saw enthusiastic participation from reputed institutions including YPS, Gurukul World School, and Gyan Jyoti Global School.
Through their films, students highlighted crucial issues such as water conservation, climate change, and the responsible use of natural resources in a simple yet impactful manner. The chief guest on the occasion, Mr. Sandeep Sahdev, graced the event and applauded the students' creativity and dedication. He expressed admiration for their artistic expression and saluted their passion for environmental protection.
The competition witnessed tough performances from all participating teams. In the end, the award for Best Film was bagged by Shamrock School for "Jeet: One Win, One World". The film was created by Mehtab, Kiara, Manvi, and their team (Classes VI to VIII).
The award for Best Direction went to Gyan Jyoti World School, Phase 2, Mohali.
The Best Actor award was won by Abhiraj from YPS, who impressed everyone with his outstanding performance.
Encouraging the students, School Managing Director Karan Bajwa said that today's children are tomorrow's changemakers. He added that our aim is not only academic excellence but also to instill a sense of social responsibility. These films prove that art can offer solutions to even the biggest global challenges.
School Principal Prineet Sohal remarked that the event was not just a competition but a movement to protect the environment. Shamrock School is proud that our students presented 'stories with a purpose' in such a remarkable manner.
