Brookfield International School, Siswan road organized an insightful and interactive workshop on Mental Health and Well-Being, aimed at equipping students with essential skills to manage stress and enhance their emotional well-being. The session was conducted by Dr. Vibha Goel, MBBS, MD, a renowned Consultant Psychiatrist from Ivy Hospital, who specializes in adolescent mental health and stress management.
During the session, Dr. Goel provided expert insights into identifying mental health challenges, managing anxiety, and adopting a positive mindset in everyday life. She emphasized the importance of self-care, emotional resilience, and seeking help when needed. Special focus was given to 10th-grade students, who are currently preparing for their CBSE board exams. Understanding that exam stress can impact performance and overall well-being, Dr. Goel shared scientifically proven techniques such as Mindfulness and meditation exercises to stay focused and reduce anxiety. Dr. Goel stressed for effective time management strategies to enhance productivity. He further said that healthy lifestyle habits, including proper sleep, diet, and exercise, to support mental clarity.
The session was highly engaging, with students actively participating in discussions, asking questions, and sharing their concerns. Dr. Goel encouraged them to maintain a balanced approach to studies, engage in relaxation activities, and communicate openly with teachers and parents about their stress levels.
Speaking about the importance of mental health, the President Manav Singla highlighted that such workshops are a crucial part of their holistic education approach. He emphasized that academic excellence is closely linked to emotional well-being, and schools must create a supportive environment for students to thrive mentally and emotionally.
