Bihar Foundation Day Celebrated at Desh Bhagat University

Mandi Gobindgarh, March 23, 2021:- SarvShreshth Bharat Club of Desh Bhagat University celebrated the 109th foundation day of Bihar on 22nd March 2021. The state was carved out from the Bengal Presidency in 1912 on this day. The theme of Bihar Foundation Day for the year 2021 is "Jal, Jeevan Hariyali" and DBU organized a webinar on the occasion to raise awareness about declining annual rainfall threatening water security in the state and country and also sensitize students and staff members on water conservation. More than 300 students and faculty members attended the webinar. Students showcased their talent through poem recitation and posters exhibition on cultural colors of Bihar and environmental issues.

DBU is catering to students from all states of the country and takes care of the educational, emotional, and sentimental needs of its students. Speaking on the occasion Dr. Zora Singh, Chancellor DBU explained the key reasons behind water conservation. He said if we wish to sustain life on earth, we need to conserve water and focus on its optimum utilization. He also said that DBU always celebrates important days belonging to all religions and diverse geographical areas to promote cultural amalgamation and foster harmony and brotherhood amongst the youth. Dr. Tajinder Kaur, Pro-Chancellor DBU congratulated staff and students for the successful conduct of the event.

Dr. Shalini Gupta, Vice Chancellor DBU said that water is the synonym of life and it is the responsibility of every human being living on the earth to keep this planet healthy by conserving nature and pass on the life and prosperity to our future generations.
