By 121 News

Chandigarh 13th October:- The book 'Two Great Masters' (Swami Vivekananda and Paramahansa Yogananda) by Amrit Gupta and published by Unistar Books (Pvt) Ltd was launched by Anupam Kher, actor, director, producer and a motivational speaker at Chandigarh Press Club here today.

Forewords to the book have been given by eminent personalities like T.N.Chaturvedi, a Padamvibhushan Awardee, former Governor of Kerala and Karnataka, Member Parliament and ex Comptroller and Auditor General of India, A.D.N.Bajpayee, Vice-Chancellor, H.P.University Shimla and Philip Goldberg,  Author of American Veda, Los Angeles, USA.

Set in the backdrop of the queen of hills, Shimla, the romantic, inspiring and enchanting story of three young research scholars interweaves practical wisdom of the two great masters in the successful navigation of human lives. It is a unique blend of wisdom and inspiration besides containing 'Glimpses into the exemplary lives of the masters' on earth.

While introducing the book, Gupta said that it is for the first time that both the masters have been presented together in one book and their divine links revealed.

Through the interesting and running story, the book contains guidance of the masters in the subjects of Concentration/Art of Listening, The Art of Understanding, Achieving Excellence in Life, Uniting Humanity through Yoga, Human Bodies—How to keep them fit and Working, Meditation- Harmony of Life, Service to Others, Philosophy of Life, Spirituality, Education-Making of a Man, etc.

One of the casts in the story is an adopted orphan girl and the other is handicapped on a wheel chair. Subject of 'Yoga for the differently-abled people has also been introduced in the book. The characters are such lovely souls that everyone would like to lead a life like them, if given a chance.

Every sentence in the book guides the reader to lead a purposeful and happy life on earth and be of service to whole of the humanity.

Interestingly recently Anupam Kher has lent his voice to a docu-drama based on the life of Paramahansa Yogananda, regarded as Father of Yoga in the west. The film 'Awake' was directed by two Americans.

He said that the Directors of the film made him do some yoga and meditation before every recording session. They wanted a puritan approach to the film. What a nice way of conveying pure feelings to the viewers of the movie!  Kher became voice of Yogananda in the movie.

He truly feels that India should be proud of its spiritual heritage, "We have taken our gurus for granted. We think spirituality comes easily to us, because the gurus belong to India. I feel every Indian should know what great men our country has produced; they should know gurus like Swami Vivekananda and Yogananda. They were the spiritual ambassadors of India. And they are still India's spiritual treasure. I would love to play him on the big screen if a biopic is ever made on his life.
