Chandigarh 17th May:- Sikhism has a great respectful history full of sacrifices. Sikhs always fought with bravery against non-justice and they selflessly served the humanity. Historical monuments established in the state by Punjab Govt. are not only a source of inspiration for young generation but also a remembrance of our great warriors and gurus. This was stated by Education Minister Punjab Dr. Daljeet Singh Cheema while addressing the gathering at Open Air Theatre of Baba Banda Singh Bahadar Memorial at Chapar Chirri, where a great stage play based on light and sound named "Gatha Sri Anandpur Sahib" was organized by the joint efforts of Punjab Tourism & Cultural Affairs Department and Punjab Kala Parishad.
During this Dr. Daljeet Singh Cheema congratulated the Punjabis on the occasion of Sirhind Fateh Diwas and said that at this place in Chapar Chirri Baba Banda Bahadar fought with Mughal army and conquered subha Sirhind Wazir Khan and got succeed in winning Sirhind. He said that due to the visionary thinking of Chief Minister Punjab, the great historical monuments like Virasat-e-Khalsa Sri Anandpur Sahib, Baba Banda Singh Bahadar Memorial Chapar Chirri, Chota & Vadda Ghallughara have been got established and now another historical monument Jang-e-Ajaadi is being established at Kartarpur near Jalandhar. During this he also appreciated the artists who played on stage.
During this Member Lok Sabha Prof. Prem Singh Chandumajra said that by conquering Mughals Baba Banda Singh Bahadar laid the foundation for freedom of the nation. He said that works and sacrifice of Baba Banda Singh Bahadar will be remembered till eternity. During this appreciating the play staged by the joint efforts of Punjab Tourism & Cultural Affairs Department and Punjab Kala Parishad, he said that such plays give a remembrance of great Sikh history.
Chief Parliamentary Secretary and MLA Dera Bassi N.K.Sharma said that Chief Minister has taken keen interest for establishing historic monument at Chapar Chiiri and now lacs of people came to see this great monument every year. Ashwani Kumar Sawan is the write of stage play "Gatha Sri Anandpur Sahib Di" and Sudesh Kumar is the director of the play. The role of Professor was played by Chairperson Punjab Kala Parishad & Ex Mayor Chandigarh Bibi Harjinder Kaur and role of Dheer Mall was played by Harmanpal Singh, Aurangjeb as Nitin Sharma, Kaaji as Harvinder Singh & all other artists also gave marvelous performance. Earlier, Singhs & children showed great moves of Gatka. The play concluded late night and gave a remarkable impression among viewers.
