Chandigarh 12th May:- Bharat Prakarsh Foundation, an NGO working in the field of Education and Health provided Tata Swatch Water purifiers for 255 Anganwadi Centres today during a programme (Swactch Bharat Mission) held at Bal Bhawan, Sector 23, Chandigarh. The Chief Guest of the function was Bhawana Garg, Secretary Social Welfare, Women and Child Development, Nishu Singal, Director Social Welfare, Women and Child Development was also present in the function.
Bhawana Garg , Secretary Social Welfare commended the efforts of the NGO and said that this would ensure clean potable water for all anganwadi children and beneficiaries of 500 Anganwadi centres. The water purifiers were handed over to the Anganwadi Workers as this was a genuine need at the centres. It was also decided that three anganwadi centres of Chandigarh will be awarded on the basis of clean anganwadi, clean surroundings, issues of personal hygiene, child health, clean food, clean drinking water and clean toilets under "Bal Swachhta Mission"
Neena Singh, Trustee of Bharat Prakarsh Foundation commented that the "Clean & Safe Drinking Water Project" was launched in September, 2015 and Water Purifier was given to the Anganwadi Centres in 3rd phases with the support of its Corporate Patron Nectar Life Sciences Ltd.
