CII Signs Mou with Himachal Pradesh Kaushal Vikas Nigam

Chandigarh 08th February:- In a first-ever initiative, Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) has signed an MoU with Himachal Pradesh Kaushal Vikas Nigam (HPKVN), Government of Himachal Pradesh, in the esteemed presence of  Virbhadra Singh, Chief Minister, and  Mukesh Agnihotri,  Industries Minister, Government of Himachal Pradesh today.

 Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh appreciated the young department's commitment to revamp the skill development landscape and mentioned that colossal work is needed to achieve the desired results and I am open to new ideas, models and express my full commitment to partner with industry on its endeavours aimed at enhancing employability. The Chief Minister  further added that skill development  is the key element for industrial growth of the state as well as for our whole nation and for the same the state intends to establish a skill university to provide quality skill training in the state to enhance employability of the youth and enable self-employment eco system in the state.

 Jayant Krishna, CEO, NSDC, briefed about the various initiatives of NSDC and highlighted about the strong presence of 194 NSDC training partners in Himachal Pradesh. He further appreciated the role of CII in initiating the mission of Skills Development in India with Late Prof. C K Prahlad under the flagship of India@75 and accredited CII for championing this act nationally and being the largest human development exercise in the country.

Applauding the State Government's effort, Rajiv Aggarwal, Chairman, CII Himachal Pradesh State Council said that bridging the skill gap, building the vocational and technical training framework, skill up-gradation, and innovative thinking is the need of the hour and we congratulate the state government for this unique initiative and assure Confederation's full support to the State Government.       He added that CII has been playing a pioneering role in the skill development movement in India, recognizing the fact that with limited natural resources and a burgeoning population, India's principal resource is its people, hence CII is committed to the Prime Minister's vision of Skill Development.
