Havan Ceremony Marks the Beginning of the New Academic Session at MCM

Chandigarh 17th July:- To mark the commencement of a new academic session, MCM DAV College for women, Chandigarh organized a Havan ceremony. An institution where tradition and excellence coexist cordially, the ceremony is an annual feature conducted at the onset of every academic session to seek blessings from the Almighty and ask for his grace for a fulfilling session ahead. The ceremony started with soul striving rendering Bhajans followed by Havan and later an enlightening address by Acharya Dev Vrat ji, Principal, Gurukul, Kurukshetra. He emphasized upon the students the importance of following our traditions and embracing congruous new trends for a wholesome development. He also stressed upon the significance of nature in enhancing our life and health. Students in overwhelming numbers participated in the blissful ceremony.

College added another small yet immensely significant infrastructural facility by installing a lift and building a disabled friendly ramp. The ramp and elevator were inaugurated on the same day by Ms. Kirron Kher, Member of Parliament and a famous bollywood celebrity. Ms Kher was all praise for MCM and encouraged one and all to carry forward the institution's glorious legacy. She emphasized the importance of gender sensitive nurturing of new generation in women empowerment. She also congratulated the college for being sensitive to the needs of the disabled and installing the infrastructure to make them comfortable.

The Principal of the college, Ms Neena Dhawan, said that the auspicious ceremony was aimed at infusing a sense of devotion into the students and was conducted to introduce them to the righteous virtuous value system of the college. She also remarked that MCM is now better equipped and disabled friendly.
