Fly over Bridge worth Rs. 125 crore to be constructed at National Highway near Dera Bassi will be a big relief to commuters:N.K. Sharma.

Mohali 16th January:-With the construction of flyover worth Rs. 125 crore being constructed at Dera Bassi, the major bottleneck in the smooth flow of the vehicular traffic on the highway will got removed. This flyover will also facilitate the vehicular traffic approaching towards Ambala, Delhi from the other nearby states. This was disclosed by Chief Parliamentary Secretary N.K.Sharma.

While talking with media N.K.Sharma said that the design for the flyover has been prepared by National Highway Authority and the initial execution work has been started. The bridge will be 1150 metre long, approaching from Bhankharpur Railway over bridge & will end up near Sukhmani Engineering College. He added that the execution will be done in stipulated time. N.K.Sharma said that the proposed flyover at Dera Bassi will not only be helpful in bringing down the rate of accidents on the highway here but also provide uninterrupted journey to passengers heading towards Chandigarh apart from tourist destinations in Himachal Pradesh, including Shimla and Manali. He said that the bridge will also facilitate the easy traffic flow. He added that four under bridge Railway crossing projects are in the pipeline for Dera Bassi. These under bridges are at Railway Crossings Janetpur, Bakarpur, Nagla & Ghazipur, which will be more beneficial to the general public. He said that Dera Bassi is being developed as a role model in the state of Punjab & master plan for the same is being prepared for systematic development works. He said that very soon Dera Bassi will be the first Block where 24x7 Water Supply will be made available to its villages. He said that during last fiscal year Rs. 5 crore 87 lacs 6 thousand were spent for establishing rural water supply schemes. He said that Rs. 4 crore 94 lacs 48 thousand are being spent for establishing Sewerage treatment plants at village Jaula Kalan, Bhagsi & Mukandpur, which will be completed very soon.
