Mohali 15th September:-- Gian Jyoti Institute of Manangement & Technology celebrated Engineers' Day in the memory of Sir Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya here today. Gian Jyoti's Chariman J.S.Bedi graced the occasion as the chief guest. The function started with the lighting of Deep Shikha seeking the blessing of (Goddess Sarasvati).
The celebrations at Gian Jyoti Group of Institutions started off with the paper presentations, face painting competitions and poster & collage competitions relating to the theme for celebrations and Quiz contest. Questions related to science and technology were the centre of attraction of quiz. Group Chairman J.S. Bedi and Director Dr. V.K. Jadon also show their presence in the celeberation. The students and faculty took part in the contest very joyfully. Questions based on Science and technology asked in the quiz contest and questions related to general knowledge were also the part of the game show. Engineering students enjoyed the game show very much.
Group Chairmen .J.S. Bedi gave a information on the life history of Sir Visvesvaraya and gave an overview of the theme of the year stressing on issues pertaining to Climate Responsive Technologies, the meaning of inclusive growth and sustainable development and their interrelationships as well as resulting challenges and opportunities for the engineers of India today.
Speaking on the occasion Dr.Vijay Kumar, Director of the Institute gave the message to the students that Engineering is the art of organizing and directing men and controlling the forces and materials of nature for the benefits of the human race, Hope we will soon become a successful and skilled engineer and make some of our contribution in the development process.
