Chandigarh 15th September:-- There is good news for students desirous of going to Canada to pursue their higher education dreams and goals. A Canadian Higher Education extravaganza is in the offing for Chandigarh and Punjab. As many as 21 Canadian Colleges & Universities will converge at the 'Mega Canadian Education Fair' which is to take place in Chandigarh's Hotel Taj on 15th Sep. This will be followed by Ludhiana on Sep 16 and Jalandhar on Sep 17. The educational event is being brought to the region by Charms Education & Immigration Services, which specializes in helping students find the right course, institute and in provision of turn-key student visa consultancy services.
According to Rahul Paitka, MD, Charms Education & Immigration Services, said that India is a favoured destination for Canadian Institutes for getting students. This is proved by the fact that a record 13,000 study permits were approved in 2012 which represents an increase of 530 percent since 2004. At the moment India is second only to China in sending students to Canada for pursuing higher education. The acceptance of foreign students is highest in Ontario Province, followed by British Columbia and then the French speaking Quebec. There is a steady rise in number of students immigrating to Canada from India. The fair will offer a very lively and interactive environment to prospective students. The important thing is that all Institutes coming to Chandigarh are of repute and members of AUCC (Association of University and Colleges of Canada) & ACCC (Association of Canadian Community Colleges)".Information related to studying in Canada was shared with media by senior officials like Peter Ashby,Director of Admissions,Columbia College,Vancouver , British Columbia; Ms Alex Dimas, Student Recruitment Coordinator,Kwantlen Polytechnic University, Surrey , British Columbia; Dr Bill Mucklow, Indian Liaison, Grant MacEwan University, Edmonton , Alberta; Ms Monika Saini, Manager Recruitment, Cambrian College, Sudbury , Ontario. The event will provide a golden opportunity to students to enrol for the Jan and May 2014 academic session. He added that at the education fair all admission related queries of students will be answered and holistic latest information on pre and post visa processing for students will be shared. There will be some special offers for students who want to enroll for Jan & May 2014 intake. Many Institutes will offer application fee waiver, on the spot admissions & assessments, scholarships etc. Special Information sessions on accommodation facilities for students in Canada will also be held.
