Realising the rapid growth and the huge potential of businesses in the state of Punjab, Ras Al Khaimah Free Trade Zone Authority (RAK FTZ), Government of Ras Al Khaimah, UAE, in association with PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry is holding a series of seminars and presentations, followed by interactive meeting sessions, for the entrepreneurs in Chandigarh, from 30 July to 1 August 2013. This three-day event is being organised at the Regional Office of the PHD Chamber of Commerce & Industry (PHD CCI) in Chandigarh, India. With an initial investment of only USD 5,000, the Indian businessmen have the opportunity to set up an office in the UAE and enjoy the tax-free and 100% capital and profit repatriation benefits. Furthermore, they are eligible to apply for one UAE residence visa (family status) valid for three years and a bank account in the UAE, plus other advantages.
Bissoon Surnam, Acting Head, Marketing Department, RAK FTZ said that The three-day interactive meet will be a unique opportunity for the businessmen based in Chandigarh and for the industrialists from the neighbouring business hubs, to discuss the overseas expansion of their businesses. Besides, elaborating on the facilities, services and different types of licences available at RAK FTZ, the delegation will closely assist the applicants in the setting up process at the free zone. According to Mr Surnam, "As we shall be celebrating our 13thanniversary this year, we are looking to strengthen our positioning as a business hub geared at helping the international businesses connect to the emerging market economies in the Middle East and North Africa region. We are also focusing on providing more value-added services to our clients. The outcome of our previous road shows in Ludhiana, Punjab, has been beyond our expectations, in terms of the number of enquiries we have received, that prompted us to organise another road show in Chandigarh." He added that Chandigarh and the neighbouring hubs present huge potential, with a large number of companies operating in the different sectors that are seeking to expand overseas. Since Chandigarh has a high concentration of business entities, we believe that our forthcoming road show in Chandigarh, from 30 July to 1 August, will be a good opportunity for these business entities to take advantage of our competitive packages in order to grow and expand their businesses, not only in the UAE but also in the Middle East and North Africa region.
