Home Secretary visit inter-state bus terminus Sector 17 and 43: Found cleanliness of the bus terminus is not upto the mark

Chandigarh 19th July:-- The Home Secretary Anil Kumar showed his concern for the cleanliness of inter-state bus terminus today visited the bus terminus of Sector 17 and Sector 43 along with officers from Transport, Engineering and Architect Department.  He observed that the cleanliness of the bus terminus is not upto the mark and directed the officers of the Transport Department to the needful at the earliest. 

It was observed that the repair of the building is urgently required and directed the Engineering Department to immediately repair the counters, whose kota stones have come out.  The Home Secretary also saw the condition of the AC buses, which were found to be in good condition.  He further directed the officers to immediately prepare AC waiting lounge for the passengers traveling in the AC buses.  This will be proto type and later on based on the success of this proto type facility, the facility will be extended to other passengers also.  Officers of the Transport Department apprised the Home Secretary that the AC buses plying on the route from Chandigarh-Delhi are getting great response from the passengers due to the suitability, cleanliness and comfort of these buses.  Hence, resulting in increase in demands of the AC buses.
