Chandigarh 21st June:-- Haryana Government has invited nominations for National Communal Harmony Awards - 2013.
While stating this here today, a spokesman of the Haryana Government said that nominations for the awards be sent direct to the Secretary, National Foundation for Communal Harmony by June 30, 2013 under intimation to the State Government.
He said that National Foundation for Communal Harmony has instituted two National Communal Harmony Awards - one each for an individual and the other for an organisation to be given annually for outstanding contribution to promote communal harmony and national integration. The awards consist of a citation and cash prize of Rs.five lakh in the individual category and a citation and cash prize of Rs.ten lakh in the category of organisation. A jury headed by the Vice President of India would make selection for conferment of Awards.The details is also available at Foundation's website www.nfch.nic.in.
He said that the main objective of the Foundation was to provide assistance for effective rehabilitation of the children who had been victim of communal, caste, ethnic or terrorist violence and promote communal harmony, fraternity and national integration.
