An Online National Seminar on Emerging Trends in Pharmaceutical Sciences Held in DBU

Chandigarh June 30, 2021:- School of Pharmacy, Desh Bhagat University organized an online National Seminar on "Emerging Trends in Pharmaceutical Sciences: From Research to Revenue" in technical collaboration with the Association of Pharmaceutical Teachers of India (Punjab State Branch). around 100 participants from across the country participated in the webinar. Chancellor of DBU Dr. Zora Singh congratulated the Department for this initiative. 

Giving details of the webinar spokesperson of the University said that the President, Association of Pharmaceutical Teachers of India (APTI) Dr. R.K. Goel delivered a concise speech. Scientific Session 1 on "Chemical Engineering-A Strategy to Optimize the Biopharmaceutical Parameters" was discussed by Dr. Renu Chadha, Professor, and Former Dean, University Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Panjab University. 'Ocular drug delivery system' was the second Scientific session of the day by Dr. Munish Ahuja (Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Guru Jambheshwar University of Science and Technology, Hisar, Haryana).

Scalable Processes for the synthesis of Sulonylureas by Dr. Manjinder Singh Gill, (Assistant Professor Department of Pharmaceutical Technology, NIPER, Mohali) was the third Scientific session. He focused on Process chemistry in the development of sulphonylureas used in various health challenges.

All the dignitaries and delegates were welcomed by Dr. Puja Gulati, Head of the department. She in her speech enlightened everyone about the need of today in terms of pharma health care. The importance and objectives of this National Seminar were highlighted by Principal School of Pharmacy, Prof. B. D. Dhiman.

Pro-Chancellor Dr. Tejinder Kaur congratulated Staff, students, and members of the School of Pharmacy for the successful conduct of the event.

Dr. Shalini Gupta, the Vice-Chancellor, acknowledged and appreciated the efforts of the School of Pharmacy and conveyed best wishes in the future to organize these types of events.

The last session was on 'Research: The smart way to generate revenue'. It was a very well-explained lecture on research to revenue resources.

All the faculty members and students of the Faculty of Pharmacy and various institutions enjoyed this multidisciplinary seminar. At the end of the event, Dr. Puja Gulati delivered a vote of thanks to the Keynote speaker, All the Speakers, participants, faculty members of the University itself, and various institutions.

Home Tech Startup ZunRoof Witnesses 160% Growth in the FY 2021

Chandigarh June 30, 2021:- Amidst the second wave of the global pandemic where all the industries are hit hard, hometech startup ZunRoof witnesses a sharp growth of 160% in the FY2021. The startup has installed a total of 5000+ solar rooftops owing to a 20 MW+ of rooftop solar capacity, saved over Rs 50 crores in electricity bills for their customers, and reached a million USD in monthly revenue from the residential solar rooftop brand. 

Over the years ZunRoof has created 4 growing brands, the two brands - ZunRoof and ZunSolar, which aims to fulfill the supply side of electricity issues of India by using un-utilized rooftops and providing comprehensive solar solutions. The other two brands - zunpulse and zunpure aim to cater to the demand side of electricity utility by providing a sense and control of every appliance in one's house. The company assessed over 3,50,000 homes, designed over 50,000 rooftop solar systems, and installed over 50,000 IoT devices in 75+ cities in India.

Company's fastest growing brand zunpulse was launched in september 2020 and the company has already been able to clock a growth of 10-15x in the first few months and has been able to provide their customers with 50,000+ IoT devices.

Commenting on the growth Pranesh Chaudhary, Founder & CEO at ZunRoof stated that with ZunRoof, we aim to make India more tech savvy and solve India's twin challenges of demand and supply of electricity by offering seamless solar rooftop installation services and an IoT-based electricity management solution. We also aim to positively impact 5 million Indian homes in the next five years through solar and IoT.

ZunRoof recently entered the Smart Water RO Purifier category with the launch of a subscription based water Smart purification system named 'zunpure'. The RO is designed to provide unlimited pure water complying with raised health norms during COVID and to address the inaccessibility of pure drinking water to the masses at affordable rates. 

So far, the startup has raised 28.2 Crs from Godrej family fund in the pre-Series A and Series A combined funding,  and approximately 3.25 Cr from angel investors like Ramakant Sharma, Founder of Livspace, Pradeep Tharakan, ADB, Gaurav Gupta, Partner at Dalberg and IIT Kharagpur seniors such as Kundan from Facebook, Nishant from Morgan Stanley and Nitin from FICO- senior executives in USA along with a grant from USICEF.

MCM Holds Session on Social Entrepreneurship and Workshop on 'Atmanirbharta'

Chandigarh June 30, 2021:- The Institution Innovation Council (IIC) of Mehr Chand Mahajan DAV College for Women organised an awareness session on 'Social Entrepreneurship' and a workshop titled 'Atmanirbharta: An Entrepreneurial Journey'. Dr. Arun Bansal, Administrator, Social Substance conducted the session on Social Entrepreneurship, wherein he dwelt upon the basics of social entrepreneurship and discussed the importance of aligning business goals, business model target audience and supply chain of various services with sustainability. He also discussed case studies on some recent social contributions towards a sustainable environment.

The workshop 'Atmanirbharta' was conducted by Ms. Alisha Gupta, Bakecstasy and Ms. Banipreet Kaur, BakeShop by Bani and witnessed participation of over 200 faculty and students. The session was an endeavour to acquaint the participants with the efforts undertaken by an entrepreneur to start a successful venture. Both Ms. Alisha and Ms. Banipreet shared the story of their respective entrepreneurial journeys, emphasising that hard work, skill, risk-taking ability, creativity, connectivity and execution-oriented planning are the essential attributes for an entrepreneur to build a successful startup. 

Principal Dr. Nisha Bhargava lauded the efforts of the organisers for organising insightful sessions on a wide range of topics, providing vast exposure to the students that ultimately helps in promoting holistic development of the students.She added that the IIC of the college is working ceaselessly towards promotion of culture of innovation and entrepreneurship among the students.

सबलो द्वारा वार्षिक श्री अमरनाथ यात्रा को रद्द करने पर सरकार के इस पर पुनर्विचार करने का आहवान

Chandigarh June 30, 2021:- श्री अमरनाथ की वार्षिक यात्रा के दौरान जुटे समस्त भंडारा संगठनों का सर्वोच्च संघ - श्री अमरनाथ बर्फानी लंगर आर्गेनाईजैशन (सबलो) ने भारत सरकार द्वारा द्वारा इस वर्ष की यात्रा को रद्द करने के फैसले की आलोचना करते हुये इस पर दुबारा विचार करने का आहवान किया है। बुद्धवार को सेक्टर 27 स्थित चंडीगढ़ प्रेस कल्ब में आयोजित एक प्रैस वार्ता को आयोजित करते हुये सबलो के अध्यक्ष विजय ठाकुर और महासचिव राजन गुप्ता ने बताया कि सरकार श्रृद्धालुओं की श्रृद्धा और हितो को ध्यान में रखते इस फैसले पर एक बार फिर गंभीरता से गौर कर इस यात्रा की अवधि और यात्राओं की संख्या पर अंकुश लगा सदियो पुरानी परम्परा को जारी रख सकती है।

सबलो, श्री अमरनाथ श्राईन बोर्ड और भंडारा संमीतियों के बीच समन्वय कायम कर इस वार्षिक यात्रा के दौरान श्रृद्धालुओं में निशुल्क भोजन (लंगर) सहित रात्रि ठहराव, मैडिकल सेवाओं के साथ साथ अन्य सुविधाओं के लिये प्रयासरत रहती है।

विजय ठाकुर ने बताया कि यह पहला मौका नहीं है कि यात्रा को रद्द किया गया है। वर्ष 2019 में यात्रा को धारा 370 और 35ए हटाये जाने के बाद अचानक बंद कर दिया गया था जिससे की असंख्य शिवभक्तों की आस्था को गहरा आघात पहुंचा था। उन्होंनें कहा कि धारायें यात्रा के सम्पन्न होने के बाद भी हटाई जा सकती थी। अगले वर्ष 2020 में यात्रा को सुखद बनाने के लिये मूलभूत ढांचों और सुविधाओं पर व्यापक खर्चा करने के बाद दुर्भाग्यवश कोरोना महामारी के चलते यात्रा को रद्द करना पड़ा जिससे की भक्तों में मायूसी छा गई थी।

इस अवसर पर राजन गुप्ता ने बताया कि प्रधानमंत्री नरेन्द्र मोदी के कुशल नेतृत्व में देश ने व्यापक नुकसान से बचते हुये कोरोना की दूसरी लहर पर बखूबी नियंत्रण पाया परन्तु लाॅकडाउन के खुलने बाद मानो सरकार द्वारा अमरनाथ यात्रा के प्रति सौतेला व्यवहार शिव भक्तों की समझ से परे है। उन्होंनें कहा कि जहां एक और कोरोना की दूसरी लहर के बीच हरिद्वार में कुम्भ मेले का आयोजन किया गया वहीं दूसरी ओर पश्चिम बंगाल में चुनाव आयोजित कर कोविड 19 की रोकथाम के नाम पर भद्दा मजाक हुआ। कोरोना के खत्म होने पर पड़ोस में भक्तों के लिये माता वैष्णों देवी की यात्रा, खीर भवानी का मेला, हिमाचल प्रदेश में चिंतपूर्णी सहित अन्य देवियों के दर्शन तक खोल दिये गये हैं। गुप्ता ने सरकार पर आरोप लगाये की किस मकसद् से अमरनाथ यात्रा पर विराम लगाया गया है, वह सभी के लिये चिंतन का विषय है।

अमरनाथ यात्रा की तैयारियो के लेकर सरकार के रुख पर बोलते हुये विजय मेहरा ने बताया कि 27 मार्च को जारी एक विज्ञप्ति में सरकार ने एक अप्रैल से पीएनबी, जम्मू एंड कश्मीर बैंक  और येस बैंक के माध्यम से आॅनलाईन आवेदन आमंत्रित किये। घाटी में असंख्य लोगों को रोजगार मिलने के इस अवसर से उनमें उम्मीदें जगी। श्रृद्धालुओं के रजिस्ट्रेशन, सुरक्षा, सेहत, लंगर, वैक्सीनेशन और अन्य मूलभूत ढांचों को सुधारने के लिये सभी स्टेकहोल्डर्स द्वारा प्रयास किये गये। इसी बीच स्थानीय प्रशासन के साथ साथ भारतीय सेना भी अमरनाथ यात्रा के आयोजन पर आश्वस्त दिखी जिससे की यकीनी हो गया था कि शिवभक्तों को पावन शिवलिंग के दर्शन अवश्य होंगें। परन्तु 21 जून को जारी एक प्रैस विज्ञप्ति ने सभी के उम्मीदों पर पानी फेर दिया जब यह यात्रा रद्द कर दी गई।

सबलो ने सुझाया है कि यात्रा को तीन से चार सप्ताह की अवधि के लिये आयोजित की जा सकती है जिसमें श्रृद्धालुओं को संख्या दोनो रुट्स पर कम की जा सकती हैं। दोनो डोज प्राप्त कर चुके ही श्रृद्धालु ही यात्रा के योग्य हो सकते हैं जबकि यात्रा की शुरुआत से आरटी पीसीआर टेस्ट को अनिवार्य बनाया जाये। यात्रा के लिये एसओपी तय किये जाये जिसका कढ़ाई से पालन हो सके। कोविड की स्थिति के मद्देनजर यात्रा के अंतिम फैसले को स्थागित किया जाये और दिनो दिन हालत का जायजा लेकर ही यात्रा के आयोजन पर निर्णय हो।

सबलो सदस्यों ने चेताया कि यदि इस फैसले पर विचार नहीं किया गया तो वे अन्य शिव भक्तों के साथ वे इस दिशा में बड़ा अंदोलन छेड़ देंगें और सैवाधनिक उपायों के माध्यम तथा शांतिपूर्वक प्रदर्शन कर अपनी मांगे मनवायेंगें।
