Day one began with a dynamic Science Fest on 31st July, and History Fest as Renu Puri, the Principal declared the Vivek High Fest open during the opening ceremony.

This engaging event featured a thrilling array of interactive science activities, namely, science drama, a science quiz, science café and science photography; while the History event included a brainstorming History Quiz and Postal Stamp designing competition. In each event individual winners will be recognised, and the fest will culminate with  the awarding of an overall Grand Trophy to the top-performing school.

Students from classes IV to XII of 20 renowned schools of Chandigarh capital region, Punjab and Himachal, are participating in the Fiesta. The event is witnessing the participation of as many as 400 students from prestigious schools such as Pinegrove School, Solan; Springdale, Amritsar; Vasant Valley, Delhi and Scindia School, Gwalior.

Sachin Jha, an engineer from IIT-Delhi and an entrepreneur who runs a chemical manufacturing business in Rajasthan gave a  talk on 'Why Profound Truths Evade Us.'

Amit Ashar, a photographer whose commercial work includes advertising, promotion, publicity, editorial, lifestyle, and photo documentary projects, discussed how a mindful way of seeing can deepen our connection with ourselves and be expressed through photography in his talk on 'Listen with Your Eyes.'

Rahat Kulshreshtha, Co-Founder of Quidich Innovation Labs, offered perspectives on future opportunities for innovation and how entrepreneurs can contribute to shaping the next wave of media and technology advancements.

Dr Saji Varghese, Associate Professor in the Department of English and Cultural Studies at Christ University,  gave a talk on the subject  'Design Thinking for Grassroots Innovations'. He shared his journey and experiences in creating sustainable products.

Speaking on the occasion, Chief Guest, Dr. Mallika Nadda, President of Special Olympics Bharat & Chairperson of Special Olympics Asia Pacific Advisory Council appreciated the efforts put in by Acharaya Jayalaxmi Eshwar for promoting the art & rich culture of our society and forking for the cause of Weavers along with Nivedita Charitable Trust. Dedicated to the mission of building an inclusive society, Dr. Mallika Nadda has been associated with the cause of women welfare and empowerment, and the rights of the disabled for the last 30 years.

The event's concept and choreography was masterfully crafted by Sangeet Natak Akademi Awardee Acharya Jaylakshmi Eshwar, whose visionary approach brought the essence of Indian cultural heritage to life through captivating dance performances. "Mix & Match" showcased a blend of traditional and contemporary dance forms, set against a backdrop of stunning multimedia visuals that narrated the intricate stories and significance of Indian textiles. Mrs. Jayalakshmi Eshwar and her team presented the show.

Jayalakshmi Eshwar, Sangeet Natak Akademi Awardee 2021, is an internationally acclaimed Bhartanatyam exponent par excellence - an excellent performer, choreographer, teacher and author, with experience of more than four decades in dance. She graduated in performing arts from "Kalakshetra", Chennai- the pioneering Institution for fine arts envisioned by Late Smt. Rukmini Devi Arundale, who has been a guiding inspiration for Jayalakshmi. Along with Bharatanatyam, she has also learnt Kuchipudi, Odissi and Seraikela Chhau.

Acharya Jaylakshmi Eshwar's choreography intricately wove together elements of mythology and the timeless traditions of sari weaving, creating a mesmerizing narrative that celebrated the artistry and dedication of weavers across India. The production highlighted the beauty and diversity of textiles from various regions, showcasing the intricate craftsmanship that has been passed down through generations.

The other dancers of the troupe include Sushmita Satyamurty, Nandita Nambiar, Sivapriya C P, Kaveri Abrol, Eksha Chadalavada, Dr. Piyushree Shukla, Smridhi Khurana, Prerna Bisht and Chhau Dancers namely Sushant Maharana, Arun Khichi and Chand Khan. Visuals and Multimedia & Light Designing of the program were supported by Avinash Kumar & Milind Srivastava respectively. Music Composer & Producers are Gopal Rao Parnandi, Violinist Shri Sanjeev Venkataramanan, P. Vetriboopathy and Arvindd Narayanan.

सिखों के आठवें गुरू श्री हर किशन जी के प्रकाश उत्सव को लेकर शनिवार को चंडीगढ़ में नगर कीर्तन सजाया गया। पांच प्यारों की अगवाई में यह नगर कीर्तन सेक्टर 46 गुरुद्वारा श्री गुरु सिंह सभा से आरंभ हुआ और  सेक्टर 47, 48, 49,50 और सेक्टर 44-45 की विभाजित सड़क से होते हुए सेक्टर 34 स्थित गुरुद्वारा साहिब पहुंचकर संपूर्ण हुआ। नगर कीर्तन  के रास्ते में विभिन्न जगहों पर समूह संगतों सहित मार्केट वेलफेयर  एसोसिएशनों और अन्य संस्थाओं की ओर से श्रद्धा और गर्म जोशी से नगर कीर्तन का स्वागत किया गया। सेक्टर 46 में श्री सनातन धर्म सभा सेक्टर 46 चंडीगढ़ और मार्केट वेलफेयर एसोसिएशन सेक्टर 46 की ओर से भी नगर कीर्तन का स्वागत किया गया। इस मौके पर मंदिर सभा के अध्यक्ष जितेंद्र भाटिया, महासचिव सुशील सोबत, डीडी शर्मा, राकेश जॉली,  जोशी  तथा मार्केट वेलफेयर एसोसिएशन सेक्टर 46 की ओर से एसोसिएशन के अध्यक्ष बलविंदर सिंह उत्तम, महासचिव सत्यवान, रोशन लाल, नवीन राजपाल और अनूप गोयल सहित अन्य सदस्यों ने नगर कीर्तन की अगवाई कर रहे पांच प्यारों को फूलों के हार डालकर स्वागत किया। इस मौके पर फलों और खीर का प्रसाद भी बांटा गया। नगर कीर्तन में गुरुद्वारा श्री गुरु सिंह सभा सेक्टर 46 के अध्यक्ष कुलदीप सिंह, उपाध्यक्ष सुरेंद्र सिंह व बलबीर सिंह, महासचिव हिम्मत सिंह, सचिव गुरजर्विंद्र सिंह तथा  वित्त सचिव बलजीत सिंह सहित बड़ी गिनती में संगत ने अपनी हाजिरी भरी और वाहेगुरु का आशीर्वाद लिया।

Chandigarh, July 27, 2024:- चंडीगढ़ बाल अधिकार संरक्षण आयोग (सीसीपीसीआर) की अध्यक्षा के रूप में शिप्रा बंसल के एक वर्ष के कार्यकाल के सफल समापन पर आयोग द्वारा विशेष कार्यक्रम 'वन महोत्सव-2024' का आयोजन स्नेहालय, फॉर बॉयज़, मलोया, चंडीगढ़ में किया गया। शहर के विभिन्न क्षेत्रों में 300 पौधे रोपने के उद्देश्य से आज सीसीआई परिसर में 50 औषधीय पौधे लगाये गये। कार्यक्रम के दौरान 'कारगिल विजय दिवस' भी मनाया गया।

इस अवसर पर बोलते हुए सीसीपीसीआर की अध्यक्षा शिप्रा बंसल ने इस बात पर प्रकाश डाला कि सीसीपीसीआर के अध्यक्षा के रूप में एक साल की यात्रा व्यक्तिगत और साथ ही पेशेवर रूप से जीवन बदलने वाला अनुभव रही है। इसलिए इस दिन को सीसीआई के बच्चों और सभी स्टेकहोल्डर्स के साथ साँझा किया।इसके अलावा उन्होंने कहा कि प्रशासन और सभी संबंधित हितधारकों के सहयोग से वह चंडीगढ़ के प्रत्येक बच्चे की भलाई सुनिश्चित करेंगी। इसके अतिरिक्त उन्होंने बच्चों के साथ बातचीत की और उन्हें हमारी धरती माता के पोषण के प्रति हमारी नैतिक जिम्मेदारी के बारे में जागरूक किया।

Chandigarh, July 27, 2024:- गढ़वाल सभा, सैक्टर 29, चण्डीगढ़ ट्राईसिटी की सबसे बड़ी सामाजिक संस्था है, जिसके लगभग 20-22 हजार सदस्य पूरे ट्राईसिटी में हैं। संस्था का चुनाव 9 वर्षों बाद 4 अगस्त को होने जा रहा है। इसी बीच गाय के चुनाव चिन्ह पर चुनाव मैदान में उतरे उनियाल ग्रुप ने आज एक प्रेस कांफ्रेंस में चुनावी प्रक्रिया शुरू होने के बाद सत्तारूढ़ ग्रुप पर कई क्षेत्रों में रहने वाले मतदाताओं को मताधिकार से वंचित करने का आरोप लगाया है। प्रेस वार्ता को सम्बोधित करते हुए अध्यक्ष पद के उम्मीदवार कुंदन लाल उनियाल व ग्रुप के अध्यक्ष बीएस बिष्ट ने बताया कि  जनरल हाउस में जो चुनाव अधिकारी चुने गये थे, उन्होंने 15 दिन पहले ट्राईसिटी चण्डीगढ़ की सभी सदस्यों की मतदाता सूची सभी ग्रुपों को उपलब्ध कराई गई थी लेकिन गढ़वाल सभा के कार्यवाहक सचिव द्वारा 25 जुलाई को एक प्रेस विज्ञप्ति जारी की गई जिसमें शहरी क्षेत्र के अलावा डेराबस्सी, जुझारनगर, झामपुर, बड़माजरा, सिंहपुरा, खरड़, बहलोलपुर, टोगा, बलौंगी, मुबारकपुर आदि मोहाली के मतदाताओं को संविधान के अनुसार अमान्य बताया गया जबकि चुनाव पदाधिकारी द्वारा जारी मतदाता सूची में इन क्षेत्रों को शामिल किया गया हुआ है। उन्होंने कहा कि इस प्रकार तो संविधान के अनुसार बलटाना भी ग्रामीण क्षेत्र में है, तो इसे भी इस सूची से बाहर होना चाहिए था। 

बीएस बिष्ट ने कहा कि अब जबकि गढ़ समाज के उपरोक्त क्षेत्रों के सदस्यों का सदस्यता शुल्क गढ़वाल सभा में जमा हो चुका है व चुनाव अधिकारियों द्वारा अंतिम मतदाता सूची जारी कर दी गई है, तो गढ़वाल सभा के कार्यवाहक सचिव द्वारा 15 दिन बाद यह प्रेस विज्ञप्ति जारी करना बिलकुल अनुचित है, क्योंकि यह अधिकार क्षेत्र केवल चुनाव अधिकारी का है। उन्होंने आरोप लगाया कि इससे यह प्रतीत होता है कि सत्ताधारी ग्रुप गढ़वाल सभा से हटना नहीं चाहते व पहले की तरह मनमानी रवैया को जारी रखना चाहते है  तथा उनकी मंशा जानबूझ कर लड़ाई-झगडे को उकसावा देकर फिर से इस चुनाव को कोर्ट-कचहरी का मामला बनवाने की है। कुंदन लाल उनियाल ने चुनाव अधिकारियों से मांग की है कि उपरोक्त विषय में प्रेस विज्ञप्ति स्वयं जारी करें तथा गढ़ समाज के हित के लिए इस पूरे प्रकरण पर संज्ञान लें।

27 Matches Played on the First Day of Gully Cricket Tournament

Chandigarh, July 27, 2024:-Allengers Gully Cricket Tournament which is being organized by UT Cricket Association and Chandigarh Police kicks off Saturday as a total of 17 matches were played on Day one on the knock basis. The remarkable feature of the matches were, the players were administered oaths to keep away from drugs. Apart from the Police Lines ground, these matches are being played in eight other school grounds of the city. The matches are being conducted under the continuous vigilance of UTCA selectors. UTCA's President Sanjay Tandon has planned to honed the skills of the players who perform well in this edition to make their representation from the Chandigarh team in the upcoming BCCI's tournaments.  The tournament is being well supported by Municipal Corporation, Sports, Education and Social Welfare departments. Chandigarh, July 27, 2024:- सनातन धर्म प्रेरणा मंच द्वारा सेक्टर 45A चंडीगढ़ में शिव महापुराण कथा का आयोजन श्रावण मास संवत 2081 कृष्ण पक्ष एकम से द्वादशी (22 जुलाई से 1 अगस्त 2024) तक किया जा रहा है। लगभग 300 माताओं द्वारा पूरे सेक्टर में कलश यात्रा निकाली गई जिसमें भाइयों तथा बच्चों ने भी भाग लिया ।

उत्तराखंड गंगोत्री से आए हुए सुप्रसिद्ध कथा वाचक श्री भागवत गंगोत्री विभूषित श्री सुभाष शास्त्री जी शिव महापुराण कथा का गुणगान रोज़ सायं 3 से 7 बजे तक कर रहे हैं। कथा में महाराज श्री ने बताया है कि श्रवण के महीने में जो भगवान शिव की पूजा करता है या पार्थिव शिवलिंग की पूजा करते हैं उन सभी भक्तों के मनोकामना भगवान शंकर पुर करते हैं। प्रतिदिन सुबह 8 बजे से मिट्टी के पार्थिव शिवलिंग बना कर रुद्राभिषेक किया जाता है।

बिजली दरें बढ़वा कर भाजपा प्रतिशोध राजनीति कर रही है: कांग्रेस बिजली दरें बढ़ने से महंगाई से पिस रही जनता पर और बोझ पड़ेगा

Chandigarh, July 26, 2024-चण्डीगढ़ में बिजली दरों में 9.4% की बढ़ोतरी के जनविरोधी फ़रमान को चंडीगढ़ के लोगों के खिलाफ भाजपा की प्रतिशोध की राजनीति का एक ताजा उदाहरण बताते हुए, कांग्रेस पार्टी ने बिजली दरें न बढ़ाने को लेकर उठाई गई अपनी आपत्तियों को सिरे से खारिज करने के लिए संयुक्त विद्युत विनियामक आयोग (जेईआरसी) की कड़ी आलोचना की है।

बिजली दरों में वृद्धि पर अपनी तीव्र प्रतिक्रिया व्यक्त करते हुए, चंडीगढ़ कांग्रेस के प्रवक्ता राजीव शर्मा ने आरोप लगाया कि चंडीगढ़ के लोगों पर अतिरिक्त बोझ डालने का यह निर्णय भाजपा के दबाव में लिया गया है, जो शहर में अपनी हालिया चुनावी हार को भूल नहीं पा रही है। उन्होंने कहा कि बिजली महंगी करने का यह दुर्भाग्यपूर्ण निर्णय उन सभी लोगों पर और अतिरिक्त बोझ डालेगा, जो पहले से ही देश में चल रही अभूतपूर्व महंगाई से जूझ रहे हैं।

कांग्रेस प्रवक्ता ने आगे कहा कि जेईआरसी को केवल बिजली विभाग द्वारा तैयार खातों पर भरोसा कर बिजली दरें नहीं बढ़ानी चाहिए थीं क्योंकि इन खातों का किसी स्वतंत्र जांच एजेंसी द्वारा आडिट नहीं कराया गया था. इस हिसाब  से इन खातों पर विश्वास  नहीं किया जा सकता था. बिजली विभाग के बाबुओं तैयार इन्ही अनआडिटिड खातों को बिजली दरों में 19.44% की वृद्धि की मांग करने वाली उनकी याचिका के साथ संलग्न किया गया था। और तो और यह याचिका भी किसी बड़े दबाव में बड़ी जल्दबाजी में लोकसभा चुनाव के परिणाम घोषित होने के केवल दो दिन बाद ही दायर कर दी गई थी।

संसदीय चुनाव के दौरान समाज के आर्थिक रुप कमजोर सभी वर्गों को प्रति माह 300 यूनिट मुफ्त बिजली देने के वादे को दोहराते हुए पार्टी प्रवक्ता ने कहा कि चंडीगढ़ कांग्रेस इस वादे को पूरा करने के लिए प्रतिबद्ध है और लाखों शहरवासियों को यह राहत पहुंचाने में कोई कसर नहीं छोड़ेगी। उन्होंने आगे कहा कि कांग्रेस पार्टी प्रशासन और भाजपा द्वारा यूटी के बिजली विभाग का निजीकरण कर इसे अपने मित्रों को सौंपने के सभी प्रयासों का भी विरोध करना जारी रखेगी। यह बताते हुए कि चंडीगढ़ का बिजली विभाग अब तक अपनी कार्यकुशलता और लाभकारी वित्तीय प्रबंधन के लिए सारे देश में जाना जाता रहा है, कांग्रेस प्रवक्ता ने भाजपा को चेतावनी दी कि उनके इशारे पर बिजली विभाग के कामकाज को पटरी से उतारने और इसके निजीकरण की कोशिशों को सही ठहराने का कोई भी प्रयास चंडीगढ़ के लोगों द्वारा बर्दाश्त नहीं किया जाएगा।

Chandigarh, July 25, 2024:- बढ़े हुए प्रोस्टेट (बीपीएच) से पीड़ित एक 73 वर्षीय व्यक्ति, जिसके कारण उनकी किडनी खराब हो गई थी, जिसके लिए एकयूरीनरी कैथेटर भी डाला गया था। ऐसे हालात के मरीज को फोर्टिस हॉस्पिटल में वॉटर वेपर थेरेपी (रेज़म) के माध्यम से एक नया जीवन दिया गया। प्रोस्टेट के लिए मिनिमल इनवेसिव सर्जिकल उपचार का नवीनतम रूप है, जो फोर्टिस हॉस्पिटल, मोहाली में उपलब्ध है।

वॉटर वेपर थेरेपी (रेज़म) एक दर्द रहित डे-केयर प्रक्रिया है जो उच्च जोखिम वाले रोगियों या युवा रोगियों को दी जाती है, जो अपनी प्रजनन क्षमता को संरक्षित करना चाहते हैं। दीर्घकालिक प्रभाव पारंपरिक प्रक्रिया के समान हैं।

रोगी को स्ट्रोक भी हुआ था और वह हृदय रोग भी पीड़ित थे, जिसके लिए उनकी कार्डियक स्टेंटिंग की गई थी और उन्हें रक्त पतला करने वाली दवा दी जा रही थी। बीपीएच के इस मामले में सर्जरी की आवश्यकता थी। क्योंकि यह एक उच्च जोखिम वाला मामला था, इसलिए सर्जरी कराना उनके लिए जानलेवा हो सकता था। मरीज ने कई अस्पतालों का दौरा किया लेकिन आखिरकार इस साल मई में फोर्टिस अस्पताल, मोहाली के यूरोलॉजी, एंड्रोलॉजी और रोबोटिक सर्जरी विभाग के कंसलटेंट डॉ. रोहित डधवाल से संपर्क किया।

गहन जांच के बाद, रोगी के लिए वॉटर वेपर थेरेपी (रेज़ुम) की योजना बनाई गई। इस प्रक्रिया में एक विशेष हाथ से पकड़े जाने वाले रेडियोफ्रीक्वेंसी उपकरण के माध्यम से प्रोस्टेटिक पैरेन्काइमा के अंदर वॉटर वेपर को इंजेक्ट करना शामिल है, जो समय के साथ प्रोस्टेट के प्रगतिशील दबाव और लक्षणों में सुधार की ओर ले जाता है। पूरी प्रक्रिया में लगभग पांच मिनट का समय लगता है और मरीज को कैथेटर पर छुट्टी दे दी जाती है, जिसे एक सप्ताह के बाद हटा दिया जाता है।

इस प्रक्रिया में प्रोस्टेट ऊतक को काटने की आवश्यकता नहीं होती है, इसलिए कोई रक्तस्राव नहीं होता है, और कोई दर्द नहीं होता है। यह प्रक्रिया स्थानीय एनेस्थीसिया के तहत की जाती है और रोगी को एक घंटे तक निगरानी में रखा जाता है।

मामले पर चर्चा करते हुए, डॉ. डधवाल ने कहा कि रोगी को 23 मई को वॉटर वेपर थेरेपी दी गई और प्रक्रिया के एक घंटे बाद हॉस्पिटल से छुट्टी दे दी गई। चूंकि उनकी किडनी बीमारी से प्रभावित थी, इसलिए कैथेटर को दो सप्ताह तक रखा गया जब तक कि किडनी क्षति से ठीक नहीं हो गई। दो महीने बाद, मरीज पूरी तरह से ठीक है और सामान्य जीवन जी रहे है।

डॉ. डधवाल ने आगे कहा कि चूंकि बीपीएच बुढ़ापे में होता है, इसलिए अधिकांश रोगियों में हृदय संबंधी और अन्य सहवर्ती (कॉर्बिडिट्स) बीमारियां होती हैं। ऐसे मामलों में, मरीज़ रक्त-पतला करने वाली दवाएं ले रहे होते हैं, जिससे प्रक्रिया के दौरान रक्तस्राव की उच्च संभावना हो सकती है, साथ ही कई बीमारियों और बुढ़ापे के कारण पेरी और पोस्ट-ऑपरेटिव जोखिम बढ़ जाता है। ऐसे मरीजों के लिए यह प्रक्रिया वरदान है।

Chandigarh, July 25, 2024:--चंडीगढ़ में धूूम मचाने के लिए एक बार फिर से कर्निवाल आ गया है। बृहस्पतिवार की शाम यहां चंडीगढ़ सेक्टर 34 के बी ओ टी ग्राउंड में मेयर कुलदीप कुमार ने विधिवत रूप से इस तीज एवम जन्माष्टमी कार्निवाल का शुभारंभ किया। इस अवसर पर उनके साथ एरिया पार्षद प्रेमलता और पार्षद जसबीर सिंह बंटी, पुनीत छाबड़ा (  स्वर्गीय प्रदीप छाबड़ा के भतीजे) और आयोजक अयोध्या प्रकाश सहित अन्य भी उपस्थित थे। कार्निवाल में यहां अगले लगभग तीन महीने तक लोग तमाम तरह के झूलों का लुत्फ उठा सकेंगे तो वहीं कई तरह के लजीज व्यंजन भी चखने का उन्हें मौका मिलेगा।

मेयर कुलदीप कुमार  ने कहा कि शहर में लगाये गए तीज एवम जन्माष्टमी कार्निवाल की सराहना की और कहा कि लोगों को ज्यादा से ज्यादा ऐसे कार्निवाल में आकर कारीगरों की हौंसला आफजाई करनी चाहिए।

आयोजक ए के इंटरप्राइजेज के मैनेजर अयोध्या प्रकाश ने बताया कि कर्निवाल में आकर्षण का केंद्र 115 फीट का विशालकाय फिश वाला प्रवेश द्वार है। उन्होंने कहा कि उनकी तरफ से कुछ समय पहले लगाया गया कार्निवाल लोगों को बेहद पसंद आया था, खासकर सिंगापुर एयरलाइन का जहाज। जोकि सभी के आकर्षण का केंद्र रहा। उसी को ध्यान में रखते हुए कुछ नया पेश करते हुए चंडीगढ़ में अनूठे तरह की यह विशालकाय फिश पहली बार बनाई गई है। 

कर्निवाल में सिर्फ व्यंजनों के ही 10 स्टाल लगाए गए हैं। इसके अलावा नए झूले, कपड़े, ड्राई फ्रूट, फर्नीचर, आभूषण, क्रॉकरी और सजावटी सामान के भी स्टॉल लगाए गए हैं। यहां दर्शकों के लिए कार्निवाल का भव्य प्रवेश द्वार तैयार किया गया है। वहां रंग-बिरंगी लाइट के साथ सेल्फी प्वाइंट भी बनाया गया है। कर्निवाल का आनंद शाम चार बजे से रात 10 बजे तक लिया जा सकता है। 

उन्होंने बताया कि आयोजकों की तरफ से इस बार कार्निवाल में आने वाले लोगों के लिए सुरक्षा के पूरी तरह से बंदोबस्त किए गए हैं। यहां झुलों पर सुरक्षा व्यवस्था दुरुस्त की गई है, वहीं किसी भी तरह की अनहोनी की दशा में स्थानीय हॉस्पिटल के साथ अनुबंध किया गया है। हॉस्पिटल की तरफ से एम्बुलेंस तुरंत उपलब्ध रहेगी। इसके अलावा कार्निवाल में जगह जगह सी सी टी वी और अग्निशमन यंत्र भी इनस्टॉल किए गए हैं।

Week-Long Induction Program for Students in the Beginning of the New Session

Mohali, July 24, 2024:-Jhanjeri College of Chandigarh Group of Colleges organized a week-long induction ceremony in the campus to welcome the new students .In this ceremony, parents of new students also participated and got important information about the rules, goals for the whole year and placement. The program was organized under the banner NextGen Nexus 2024 and students gained valuable insights while participating in interactive sessions, workshops, and lively demonstrations.

Addressing the students, CGC MD Arsh Dhaliwal said that international level education is provided to the students, there are special classes for the students as per the need.
