Chandigarh, Mar.11, 2025:– UT girls suffered their second consecutive defeat in the Women's U-23 One Day Trophy, falling to Rajasthan by 99 runs. Rajasthan while opting to bat first posted a formidable 260/8 in 50 overs wherein skipper AD Garg leading the charge with a brilliant 100 off 107 balls. JD Choudhary (55) scored a half century. Chandigarh's bowlers led by Nandani Sharma (3/35), fought hard but couldn't contain the opposition.

Graduation Ceremony Held at Ashmah International School

Mohali 10 March, 2025:-The Students of Ashmah International School, Sector 70 received their degrees in Graduation ceremony, amongst pomp and grandeur. The function began with the Lighting of the Lamp by School Chairman J S Kesar to invoke the blessings of the Almighty. Later, magic Dance was performed by the students was mesmerizing brought back wonderful memories of last year. This was followed by the formal ceremony where the proud students received their diplomas.
While motivating the students, Chairman Kaser urged them to keep the flag of their Alma Mater flying high. School Principal Suchi Grover extended a warm welcome to all the parents and shared some parenting tips with them. She also shared the importance collaboration of parents and school in the overall development of child's personality
The parents were delighted to see their little ones with graduation caps and scrolls in their hands. The ceremony culminated with a talent performance by the students.
CGC Naya Savera Foundation and Humanity Service Society organizes Mega Medical Camp
Mohali, March 10, 2025:-Chandigarh Group of Colleges Mohali, Jhanjeri's Naya Savera Foundation, promoting social responsibility and service spirit, organized a mega medical camp in Rasulpur village in collaboration with Humanity Service Society, Ludhiana. The main objective of this camp was to provide free health services to the poor and needy people. This initiative made a significant contribution in the health care of the less fortunate sections of the society. Services like medical consultation, free medicines and blood donation camp were provided in this medical camp. During this, the best health services were provided to every patient.
Volunteers of CGC Naya Savera Foundation played a key role in this initiative. They contributed significantly to the success of the camp by packing, distributing medicines, serving patients, donating blood, and working with the team of the Humanity Service Society. Arsh Dhaliwal, MD, CGC Mohali, shared his views on the occasion and said that we should contribute to serving this society and bringing positive change in the lives of the needy people. CGC Naya Savera Foundation is dedicated to bringing social change through education, health, and empowerment of the poor. He further said that this initiative reflects our social responsibility and our mission to uplift the poor.

Gurjot Thind's All-Round Brilliance Leads Nilgiri House to Victory in OSS Inter-House Cricket Tournament

Chandigarh, Mar.09, 2025:- Nilgiri House emerged victorious in the fifth OSS Inter-House Cricket Tournament organized by the Old Sanawarians Association (OSS), the alumni body of The Lawrence School, Sanawar. The two-day tournament held at PCA Mullanpur witnessed Nilgiri House securing three wins out of their three matches.
On the final day, the team triumphed over Himalaya House by six wickets and defeated Shivalik House by 23 runs to win the title. Himalaya House finished as runners-up with two wins in three matches. The event brought together alumni from across the country, showcasing their passion for cricket and sportsmanship.
In the opening match, Himalaya House won the toss and opted to bat and posted 96/5 in 15 overs with Abhay Tipnis (28) and Japkirat Khurana (27) as top scorers. In response, Nilgiri House chased down the target in the 12th over by losing four wickets. Gurtaj Gill's unbeaten 28 and Gurjot Thind's crucial 21 powered their team to victory.
The second match saw Shivalik House electing to field first. Nilgiri House put up an impressive 152/7 with a half-century from Gurjot Thind (51) and a solid 41 from Angadbir Singh. In reply, Shivalik House was restricted to 129/8, thanks to Thind's exceptional bowling figures of 3/12. Despite valiant efforts from Saundh (32 off 14 balls) and Ishwar Dhillon (51 off 28 balls), Shivalik House fell short.
In another match of the day, Vindhya House beat Shivalik House by six wickets.
Ishwar Dhillon of Shivalik House was named Best Batter for scoring 113 runs while Ayush received the Best Bowler award for claiming six wickets. The standout performer of the tournament, Gurjot Thind, was honored as the Most Valuable Player for his all-round excellence, amassing 74 runs and taking six wickets.
Champion and runner up teams were felicitated by OSS's President (Elect) Brig Adarsh Butail in the presence of School's former coach RT Williams, PCA's VP PMS Banga, School's Principal Himmat Singh Dhillion and few others.

The event, which highlighted women's achievements and the importance of gender equality, featured a vibrant cultural program, inspiring speeches, and the presence of several distinguished guests.
The celebration was graced by prominent personalities, including Satinder Satti, a renowned anchor, writer, and Punjabi film actress, Tania and Roopi Gill popular Punjabi film actresses, Hardev Singh Ubha, Punjab BJP leader, Ashwani Kumar Sharma, Media Coordinator and Director of Rabab Studio, Sunderlal Aggarwal and Sangeeta Aggarwal, Chairman and MD of the Rattan Group of Institutes, respectively. Chandigarh, Mar.08, 2025:-Himalaya House registered two emphatic wins on the opening day of the OSS Inter-House Cricket Tournament, organized by the Old Sanawarian Society (OSS), the alumni body of The Lawrence School, Sanawar. The matches are being played at PCA Stadium, Mullanpur.
In their first match, Himalaya House outclassed Vindhya House by 58 runs. Opting to bat, Sangram Singh (51) and Abhay Tipnis (28) powered their team to 137/3 in 15 overs. Vindhya House faltered against Uday Karan's (3/20) disciplined bowling, managing only 79 runs.
Himalaya House secured another victory, defeating Siwalik House by four runs in a close contest. Sangram Singh (52) once again led the charge, helping his team post 125/4. Despite fighting knocks from Navjot Singh (50) and Ishwar Dhillon (45), Siwalik House fell short at 121/4.
Vindhya House suffered their second loss as Nilgiri House triumphed by seven wickets. Karan Malhotra (50) and skipper Revant Gupta (28) took Vindhya House to 122/5 but Mayank Oberoi (43) and Gurtaj Gill (42) steered Nilgiri House to victory in the 14th over.
OSS President (Elect) Brig Adarsh Butail (Retd.) and Justice (Mr.) Rajive Bhalla (OS) felicitated the winners. With three league matches remaining, the final match is set for Sunday.

Sanawar Alumni to Host 5th OSS Inter-House Cricket Tournament from March 7

Chandigarh, Mar.07, 2025:-The Executive Committee of The Old Sanawarian Society (OSS), the alumni association of the 177-year-old Lawrence School, Sanawar is set to host the 5th Edition of the OSS Inter-House Cricket Tournament at PCA, Mullanpur on March 8-9, 2025.
Addressing a press conference, OSS President (Elect) Brig Adarsh Butail (Retd) and Chief Event Coordinator Partap Singh Bajwa alongside team captains Mainak Goel (Himalaya), Mayank Oberoi (Nilagiri), Navjot Jammu (Siwalik), and Revant Gupta (Vindhya) announced that the tournament will feature six thrilling matches in a 15-overs-per-game format over two days.
Organized under the leadership of Justice Rajive Bhalla (OS) and Mrs. Nancy Bindra (OS), wife of the I.J.S. Bindra, former BCCI President, the event upholds Sanawar's sporting traditions. The 60-player lineup includes distinguished alumni—corporate leaders, doctors, judges, lawyers, and businessmen.

UT Girls Dominates Bihar with 155-Run Win

Chandigarh, Mar.07, 2025:- UT girls delivered a commanding performance against Bihar at the ongoing Women's Under-23 One Day Trophy to secure a 155-run emphatic win at the Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium on Friday.
After electing to bat first, Chandigarh posted a strong total of 236/5 in their allotted 50 overs wherein skipper Aaradhana Bisht led from the front with an unbeaten knock of 110 off 113 balls, including 12 boundaries and a six. She was well supported by wicketkeeper-batter Sarah Mahajan who contributed a crucial 77 off 123 balls. The duo's partnership laid a solid foundation for Chandigarh's innings.
In response, Bihar struggled to counter Chandigarh's disciplined bowling attack and were bowled out for just 81 in 38.1 overs. Pushpa Bishnoi (4/18) and Nandani Sharma (3/10) spearheaded the bowling campaign.
This is the second consecutive win for UT girls as the team is scheduled to play their third game against Madhya Pradesh on March 9.
