Chandigarh 30th October:- Punjab Labour Minister Bhagat Chunni Lal today laid the foundation stone of Punjab Model Welfare Centre to be constructed at the cost of Rs. 15 crore at S.A.S. Nagar, Mohali. The purpose of the centre is to accommodate all the offices of the labour department under one roof which would be extremely beneficial to the labour class. The Bhawan would be completed by mid of next year.
He also asked the officers of the department to ensure that the welfare schemes of the Government are strictly implemented so that the needy labourers could take the benefit of these schemes as envisaged by the state government.
Principal Secretary, Labour, Vishavjeet Khanna; Chairperson, District Planning Board, Bibi Amanjot Kaur, Panch, Sarpanches and Senior Officers of the Labour Department were also present on the occasion.
