Chandigarh 28th March:-- The 6th edition of 5-day “Made in Pakistan” Show, organized by Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), opened to huge crowds, especially tricity women at Himachal Bhawan in Sector 28 ,Chandigarh here today. CII is organizing Made in Pakistan show in association with Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce.Major attractions at the Fair included exclusively designed evening gowns especially for Party and bridal wear, chiffon and cotton suits and dress material, Jaamavar work suits, Multani handwork dress material, Irani Rosewater, Brass door bells, Afghani & Dubai Ittar, Pakistani Sunflower seeds for diabetes control, Irani plum (energy boosters), Afghani heeng, Ceramic cabinets, Kuch Kundal work anarkali suits, Hakik-Feroza stone jewelry, Coral feather blankets, sequin hand bags and clutches, Swaroski stone footwear, Onyx masterpieces, Zarkan work sandals, Gota patti Dupatta, Kutta work dresses, wooden wall clocks and handicrafts from various parts of Pakistan. Nearly 75 exhibitors from Pakistan are showcasing their best here.
Mohan Chauhan, Managing Director, Himachal Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation & Director – Tourism, Government of HP also visited the fair and shared that “Made in Pakistan”Show is an excellent platform for promotion of regional peace, trade and exchange of thoughts between the 2 countries. The kind of response the fair has received on day 1 itself speaks about the interest, love and faith that the people of Tricity have in Pakistan’s stuff, be it handicrafts, jewellery, food items, garemnts, spices, or onyx masterpieces.
Pikender Pal Singh, Regional Director, CII Northern Region, shared that Made in Pakistan Show, a CII initiative is a step towards bringing the two countries closer. CII believes that People-to-people connect is the best way to promote cultural and trade ties and hence strengthen relations. This event being an annual feature, people of the Tri-city get the benefit of a wide range of interesting and seasonal products from across the border right here in the city. Last year, CII had taken a business delegation to Pakistan to strengthen trade ties. We would continue the effort this year as well.
Khurshid Barlas, Executive Member, Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce & Chief Executive and Chief Executive Pak World Trade & Expo Centre shared that, it is in through these exchanges that we can sow the seeds of a peaceful future and see that the new generations do not share the lack of love and trust some of us grew upon.
Man Mohan Singh, Immediate Past Chairman, CII Chandigarh Council said people connect is the force behind this initiative. People look forward to this event. The response on the first day has been overwhelming, with the venue packed with visitors. This speaks for the demand of Pakistani products here in the tricity.
Furqaan Afzal, one of the dynamic designers of the exhibition, who has studied fashion form Toronto and is a household name in Pakistan Fashion world, says the response on the opening day is overwhelming. His exclusive party wear collection caught every visitor’s attention. His collection comprises Jaamavar velvet suits and evening gowns ranging from Rs.10,000 to Rs 22,000.
Ms Kausar Sheikh, Chairperson, Multan Chamber of Commerce, and owner Attrie Collection, Pakistan, said, that it is really encouraging to see the kind of positive response we get every year by the Tricty people. This year, we have brought an exclusive range of suits designed by renowned Pakistani designers like Ittehad, Chiyanere, Barize, Nishaat, Sanaa Safinaz. These suits have special Kutta work, which makes them one of a kind.
