Chandigarh Nov. 02, 2021:- On the occasion of Dhanteras and to meet the shortage of blood in Tricity hospitals due to dengue, Vishvas Foundation organized two blood donation camps today. One camp was organized in Mobile Market Sector 22B Chandigarh and the other camp was organized in Zirakpur on Ambala Chandigarh Road outside Metro. Blood donation camp was organized in Chandigarh in collaboration with Traders Welfare Association Sector 22B and Indian Red Cross Society Punjab State Chandigarh. Blood donation camp was organized in Zirakpur in collaboration with Shiv Karthik Restaurant and Indian Red Cross Society District Branch Mohali. During this, special care was taken to protect against covid-19 such as social distancing, masks and sanitization. In both the camps 101 blood donors donated their blood voluntarily.
General Secretary of Vishvas Foundation, Sadhvi Neelima Vishvas informed that the camp was inaugurated in Chandigarh by President Subhash Narang. The team of Blood Bank Rotary and Blood Bank Society Resource Center Sector 37 Chandigarh collected blood under the supervision of Dr. Roli Agarwal. The team of Blood Bank AM Care Hospital Blood Center in Zirakpur collected blood under the supervision of Dr Karthik Agarwal. She explained that donating blood by people is believed to improve heart health, reduce the risk of heart diseases and stroke. Excess amount of iron in the blood can increase the risk of heart attack, by donating blood regularly the excess amount of iron is controlled. Which is good for heart health.
Many times, the amount of blood in the body of patients becomes so low that they need to take blood from someone else. In such an emergency situation, people should come forward to donate blood for the supply of blood. This will help the needy.
At the end of the camp, all the blood donors were felicitated with appreciation letters, soaps, mementos and gifts. On this occasion, Rakesh Kumari, Avinash Sharma, Varsha Sharma, Shashwat Vishvas, Sandeep Parmar, Brij Mahajan, Shatrughan Kumar, Vishal Kuwar, Neeraj Yadav and doctors of blood bank were also present from Vishvas Foundation.
