Chandigarh 12^th September:- Diljit Dosanjh starrer super hit Punjabi romantic-comedy 'Sardaarji' will see its sequel 'The Return of Sardaar ji' coming out on 24^th June 2016. White Hill Production has announced the sequel and the shooting will hit the floor soon. Once again Diljit Dosanjh will be playing the lead role with Sonam Bajwa as his love interest. Released on 24^th June 2015, Sardaar ji became the highest Punjabi grosser ever. The film got a superb start with more than 1000 shows a day across more than 250 screens pan India and nearly 150 screens oversees. That's the highest figures for a Punjabi film so far.

Producers of the film Gunbir Singh Sidhu and Manmord Sidhu commented that we are fully dedicated to an unending series of entertainment for the Punjabi audience. With Jatt & Juliet franchise, Punjab 1984 and Sardaar ji we have created history at the box office and we will keep continuing the good work. The sequel to Sardaar ji will be more entertaining and will make another big record all over.

The film will be directed by Rohit Jugraj again and rest of the cast will be shortlisted soon. Gunbir Singh Sidhu said that we truly believe in changing the commercial sense of Punjabi cinema all together by opening new dimensions. We are open to experiments and never compromise on quality of our work. And with the success of Sardaar ji it has been proved that audiences prefer quality cinema and healthy scripts. We look forward to continue our journey with 'The Return of Sardaaar ji'.

Manmord Sidhu said that the script is under the pen and will reach the finalization stage soon. He said that we touch the human feelings and keep our stories close to reality. Just like Sardaar ji, the sequel will be fully entertaining and will become a part of everyone's life.

It is worth mentioning that Sardaar ji opened with a huge collection of Rs. 2.5 crores in India on the opening day with Australia, New Zealand, USA, Canada, UK contributing another Rs. 1.5 crore figure. By the end of first weekend the figure rose to Rs. 14.72 crores which is earth shattering for a Punjabi film.
