Maharishi Dayanand Public School organizes Poster Making Competition

Chandigarh 10th February:- Maharishi Dayanand Public School Daria, Chandigarh organized a Poster Making Competition in collaboration with Chandigarh Renewal Energy, Science and Technology Promotion Society (CREST), Chandigarh. Maximum students of the school participated in the competition. This competition was divided into junior and senior categories. Through the competition students expressed that five principles of renewable sources of energy are the sun, the wind, flowing water, biomass and heat from within the earth. Solar energy comes directly from the sun. The sun is a constant natural source of heat and light. Its radiation can be converted into electricity. Wind turbines produce electricity. Hydro-turbines use water power to generate hydroelectricity. Biomass is used to make heat, electricity and liquid fuels. In junior category   Deepika, Aaditiya Gagan and Harsh Saini bagged first, second and third prize while Sakshi, Pardeep and Aarti kumari in senior category got first, second , third and consolation position respectively.

Principal Dr.Vinod Kumar gave away prizes to the winners. He told that the main aim of this competition was to create awareness about energy conservation in daily life.
