Chandigarh 11th June:- To beat the sweltering heat, the company Squisita Gelato has launched genuine & original Italian Gelato under the brand Squisita(which means delicious in English), in small attractive hand tubs as well as large one-liter family packs, at a media conference.
According to Pushi Chowdhry, that nowhere in the World is Gelato served in Consumer packs. In foreign countries people visit Gelato parlours and have their Gelato there itself. It has been done in India for the first time ever, to cater to demand for packaged Gelato. This has been made possible by Giulio Fontana a Master Gelato Chef from Italy who visits us twice a year for refresher courses. He has now developed a unique and special recipe by which we can package Gelato in consumer packs. Pushi Chowdhry further said that they are looking to increase their footprint and invite Distributor enquiries. They have expansion plans not just for India but for overseas too. The objectives of the Company are to bring Gelato to India and use Chandigarh as a launch pad for Pan India and South East Asian Markets. Squisita prepares its Gelato using state-of-the-art techniques. The machines at Squisita include a pasteurizer, Gelato making machine and Batch Freezer which are computerized and of Italian origin. What's more, Chefs who have been trained, by Giulio Fontana produce Gelato in Chandigarh which is then marketed through a well entrenched retail network. These products are available in 40 retail outlets in the tricity. Squisita is sold in Karnal and Ludhiana by its distributors who have extensive retail reach. The brand has also tied up with several eateries on the GT Road between Murthal and Jalandhar. He added that most of the ice cream brands contain somewhere between 14 and 17 percent fats and also have preservatives, stabilizers, artificial flavours & colours. On the other hand Gelato contains no vegetable fats or synthetic chemicals & preservatives. It contains only natural products.
