Fwd: PROFESSOR RAMESH SEN RETIRES FROM PGI

Chandigarh 22nd January: Professor Ramesh Kumar Sen, Orthopaedic Surgeon, Chandigarh has taken voluntary retirement after serving PGIMER Chandigarh for more than 20 years. He was relieved from the Institute on 20th of January 2014. In his distinguished career in PGI, beside performing routine knee and hip joint replacement surgeries, Prof Ramesh Sen specialized in hip and knee revision surgeries and pelvi-acetabular trauma management.. Dr Sen has done extensive work on stem cell therapy in the avascular necrosis of hip joints which has already been internationally recognized. He has many innovations and Patent to his credit. He has been a Course Director in more than 40 surgical skill training workshops within country as well as abroad. Surgical approaches and techniques developed by him are reportedly being practiced by orthopedic surgeons in many countries. With more than 150 publications in scientific journals to his credit, Prof Sen has delivered more than 300 guest lectures in national and international conferences. He has been visiting Professor in Germany and USA and has also been external examiner for postgraduate education in various countries.
