Chandigarh, Sept.25, 2023:- In the 92nd Annual General Meeting (AGM) of BCCI held in Goa, UT Cricket Association (UTCA) President Sanjay Tandon made a strong pitch to the executive for the upliftment of cricket in the city. Primarily, Tandon expressed his gratitude to the BCCI Secretary, under which the BCCI has given field equipment to UTCA to conduct the matches in the wetty conditions worth about Rs 1.5 crore. Tandon strongly demanded during the meeting that UTCA's membership in the BCCI should be promoted. He was of the opinion that in the last four years of its formation, the cricketers from Chandigarh have proved their mettle at the national and international level. Therefore he urged that UTCA membership should be promoted so that the players of Chandigarh can get better benefits. He said that construction and revival stadiums are taking place across the country for which efforts should be intensified for Chandigarh also. Treasurer CA Alok Krishna was also representing Chandigarh in the meeting. Tandon and Krishna demanded more budget allocation for UTCA. Secretary Jay Shah also took cognizance of Tandon's demands and said that the BCCI will continue its efforts in improving the infrastructure of cricket in Chandigarh.
