TIME BANK, A UNIQUE BANK WHERE TIME, NOT MONEY IS DEPOSITED

Chandigarh, June 06, 2023:-The first of its kind Bank, Time Bank of India which was established in 2019, is recorded in India Book of Records as the first such Bank in India.  Got the idea from Switzerland Time Bank, Time Bank of India was registered and started in Jaipur. 

Inder Dev Singh, Chandigarh Chapter Admin has narrated that Time Bank of India, a registered trust, has introduced a noble concept of taking care of lonely senior citizens members, through a team of dedicated volunteer members. Concept of Time Bank, although very well established in European countries is new for our country and trust is making sincere efforts to popularize it for the growing population of lonely senior and super senior citizens. He informed that with disintegration of joint family system and rise in number of nuclear families, senior citizens are finding themselves in a state of neglect. With their busy lifestyle their children and grand children are unable to spend some quality time with them, which often becomes a big cause of depression for senior citizens. To counter this problem Trust has started Time Bank, in which carefully chosen volunteers of the trust visit and spend some time with such senior persons. 

 Arunesh Agarwal, President Shree Sanatan Dharma Mandir has informed that Time Bank is a totally non financial activity and volunteers are expected to invest only their time and not money. The time invested by volunteers in this activity is credited to their individual account, which they can use when they become senior citizens. The model works on postal PIN code area basis so no one need to go at a far place to serve. Registration is online at www.timebankofindia.com.and members are duly verified by respective PIN code area Admins before making them members.

He informed that a meeting is being organised at Sanatan Dharm Mandir Sec 11B on 7th Jun 2023 at 10 am for the benefit of Chandigarh residents where large number of volunteers are expected to join. 

Gurinder Singh, Admin of Mohali Chapter informed that founder of Time Bank of India Mr P C Jain is coming from Jaipur will be the key note speaker in the program and will explain the concept in detail.
