Chandigarh 01 September, 2021:- In a major boost to the Department of Forest & Wildlife to protect and preserve the greenery of City Beautiful, 13 Forest Guards and 4 Foresters have been recruited by the Department of Forest & Wildlife. The whole process of the recruitment including conducting written test, Physical Efficiency test, Medical examination tests were done in a very transparent manner. In all, 37,980 candidates including 2800 female candidates applied for the posts from across the country. Out of 17 Forest Executives, 2 female candidates have also been selected.
Debendra Dalai, IFS, Chief Conservator of Forests & Chief Wildlife Warden, UT Chandigarh thanked the Advisor to the Administrator, UT Chandigarh for taking a decision at an appropriate time to conduct the written test following strict Covid protocol. As a result, 18,754 candidates out of total applicants of 37,980 appeared for the written test. Subsequent to the written test, Physical Efficiency Tests and Medical Examination Tests were also conducted for candidates in the merit list.
It is to inform that the vacancies of Forester/ Forest Guards in the Department of Forest & Wildlife, UT, Chandigarh were lying since long and this recruitment shall definitely strengthen the hands of the department to carry forward the green activities and for better protection of flora & fauna of the forest areas of Chandigarh, informed Debendra Dalai, CCF.
