Chandigarh July 29, 2020:- Desh Bhagat Ayurvedic College & Hospital in collaboration with Vishwa Ayurveda Parishad celebrated Maharishi Charak Jayanti at Desh Bhagat University Campus, Mandi Gobindgarh. A tree plantation drive at Herbal Garden of DBU was organized to commemorate and honor precious contributions of Maharishi Charak in Ayurveda Science.
Dr. Zora Singh, Chancellor, DBU & Pro Chancellor Dr. Tejinder Kaur, planted saplings of Medicinal & Herbal plants and said that Maharishi Charak has described the medicinal qualities and functions of 100,000 herbal plants in "Charak Samhita" and world recognizes him as first one to describe the concept of digestion, metabolism, and immunity.
Dr. Kulbhushan Vashisht, Director DBAC & H, Dr. Satya Deo Pandey, Principal DBAC &H, Dr. Baljit Singh, CMO DBH and faculty members pledged to conserve the environment with eco friendly practices and for continuous effort in making people aware about the importance of nature in human life.
