With technology touching every aspect of our lives, no matter what our geographies are, innovation is on the rise to meet the new Indian's changing aspirations.
The numbers are interesting - only 9% of start-up founders in India are women. Close to one million of them are mom-preneurs, home-preneurs, solopreneurs and stand-alone entrepreneurs. Even as the numbers grow, entrepreneurs continue to face various challenges including reaching out to the right audience, payment transactions, logistics, raising funds, business expansion, growth increment and stability.
Introducing Sellfie a contextual commerce start-up, part of Citrus payments has come up with a global first a social commerce platform for individuals to sell and collect payments directly on social networks, instant messengers and other online channels. The app, called Sellfie, allows anyone to take a picture of an item, price it, choose shipping options, and push a link to Twitter, Facebook, Instagram as well as other platforms like whatsapp to sell and collect.
Citrus managing director Amrish Rau said that even though Citrus has made it easier for large businesses to collect payments seamlessly, it now wants to make it easier for the one million plus individual sellers and businesses on Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp to sell and collect payments.
