SBI Organizes Town Hall Meetings Across the Country To Commemorate Its 210th Anniversary

Chandigarh 28th June:- To commemorate the occasion of completing 210 years this month and to reaffirm its commitment to customers, SBI held over 600 Town Hall Meetings across the country on 28.06.2016 covering Tehsil Head Quarters besides all Local Head Office, Zonal Office and Regional Office Centres - a unique initiative not done earlier on this scale. It was an open invitation for customers and general public alike to participate in the meeting and share their experience and expectations of SBI which would help the bank enhance its customer service. As a part of this series of meetings, one such meeting was held at North Block Hall of SBI, Local Head Office, Sector 17 A, Chandigarh.  Approx. 150 citizens of Chandigarh attended the meeting. Anil Kishora, Chief General Manager, SBI Chandigarh addressed the gathering.

In his address, Anil Kishora said that the Bank is committed to achieving excellence in customer service. In this quest, it is constantly exploring new ways and channels to render an enriched and empowered experience to its customers. He dwelled upon a number of technology enabled facilities such as SBI Quick, State Bank Samadhan, SWAYAM, E-Corners, SBI INTOUCH branches, Online complaint management system etc. to mention a few, to provide round the clock service/access to the bank. The Bank's Net Banking site is one of the most visited sites globally. The Bank also is committed to Corporate Social Responsibility and has a well enunciated policy to contribute to society consistently. The Bank has won many Awards at national and international level. The Bank recently won the "CIBIL Data Quality" Award 2016 for Best Quality Data and "Best Customer Experience Banking" Award instituted by the World Quality Congress & Awards. An open session followed where many customers shared their experience banking with SBI and gave their invaluable suggestions and feedback.

Concluding the meeting, Venkatesh S Bhardwaj, General Manager, NW-I, SBI, Chandigarh thanked the customers for their valuable suggestions and said that the feedback would help in designing new products and making improvements to existing services. This initiative of the bank to provide a platform for customers and general public to share their experience would be a continuous one and that it would be the endeavour of the bank to hold such meetings every quarter.
