Chandigarh 31st May:- A work shop on harmful effect of using tobacco was organised in Today at Children's Home Snehalaya by Gurnam Singh, Executive Head of Saanjhi Soch (N.G.O.) in collaboration with Dr. Navreet Kaur Consultant, Fortis Hospital Mohali.
The Harmful effects of consuming Tobacco in various forms (smoking chewing tobacco etc.) were elaborated at length. It was also told that the most affected and likely to be affected group is the adolescent age group who have high tendency of experimenting these things and they also have a great influence of peer groups.
The workshop also focused on the hazards of consuming tobacco like difficulty in breathing, damage of lungs and kidneys, reaction in body and skin etc leading to fatal diseases. During the whole session the children of Snehalaya participated actively by interacting with the resource persons and by asking questions.
