Banks Should Ensure Quick Sanction of Loans to Unemployed for Establishing Own Business:Mangat

Chandigarh 18th April:- With an objective of making self independent youth, and to create employment opportunities in the district, banks should ensure quick sanction of low interest loans to unemployed for establishing their own business. This was stated by Deputy Commissioner D. S. Mangat after Launched Annual Credit Plan amounting to Rs.6440 crore 94 lacs at meeting hall of district administrative complex.

D. S. Mangat said that last year Annual Credit Plan was for Rs. 5419 crore 54 lacs whereas during current financial year the credit plan for the district is Rs. 6440 crore 94 lacs which is Rs. 1021 crore 40 lacs in excess as compared to the previous year. He said that under the Annual Credit Plan Loans amounting to Rs. 5260.73 crore will be for priority sectors and for agriculture and allied sectors Loans amounting to Rs. 2478 crore 22 lacs will be provided. For establishing Micro & Small Scale Industries in the district Loans amounting to Rs. 1498 crore 3 lacs will be provided and for other priority sectors loans amounting to Rs. 1284 crore 48 lacs will be provided so that small and medium scale industries could be encouraged in the district. He further said that to facilitate the students for higher education loans amounting to Rs. 235 crore 10 lacs will be provided under Education Loan Scheme.

During this R.K.Saini District Manager PNB said that during the current financial year 100% target of Credit Plan will be completed and for this awareness among farmers will be generated at village level to encourage them for adopting horticulture and floriculture besides agriculture which will help in improving their financial conditions.
