Take Steps to Restore Normal Water Supply in Bhiwani: Kiran Choudhry

By 121 News

Chandigarh 04th January:-Kiran Choudhry, Leader of the Haryana Congress Legislature Party (CLP), has criticized the BJP Government, led by the Chief Minister, Manohar Lal Khattar, for increasing the gap in river water supply from the present 30 days to 45 days in Bhiwani. This would cause 20 per cent cut in water supply in Bhiwani district, putting the farmers and domestic consumers to lot of inconvenience.
In a statement issued here today, the former Excise and Taxation Minister asked the government to make alternative arrangements to provide normal water supply to the villagers. She said that as Public Health and Engineering (PH&E) Minister, she had taken steps to increase water storage capacity four times.

Kiran Choudhry said that the decision to cut water supply militates against the statement made by PH&E Minister on the floor of the House assuring that there is no water shortage. There are three waterworks in Bhiwani but none is able to provide adequate supply of water. Many villages will be impacted due to this new system. There are some villages, including Umravat, where water has not been supplied for the last 15 days and no step has been taken to solve the problem despite repeated complaints. She said that Bhiwani is being discriminated on this issue.   She added that the government should move fast in the matter and restore normal water supply to the villagers failure to do which would betray the apathy of the administration to the problems of the people.
