PGI Pays Homage to Former ENT Head

Chandigarh 05^th January:- Prof Yogesh Chawla, Director PGI, faculty, former Directors, retired PGI faculty and other staff attended the condolence meeting held today in Lecture Theatre, PGI to pay tributes to Prof SBS Mann, former Head of the Department of ENT who left for his heavenly abode on 2^nd January, 2016.  Various faculty members including Prof Yogesh Chawla, Director PGI, Prof Naresh K. Panda, Head of ENT Department, Prof K Gauba paid tributes to the departed soul.  

 Prof SBS Mann served the Institute as Professor and Head, Department of ENT, PGI and Director-Principal, Government Medical College and Hospital, Sector-32, Chandigarh.  His field of specialization was Oto-rhino-laryngology.  He devoted 37 years of his life to teaching and research in this field. He got various national and international distinctions.  Some of these are Fellow of International Academy of Medical Sciences; Lifetime Award by the Association of Otolaryngologists of India; Jewel of India Award by the International Institute of Education and Management; National Udyog Excellence Award and Haryana Government State Award.  He had about 170 publications to his credit.
