Chandigarh 21st January:- For actor Ravish Desai, shooting Satrangi Sasural for the past few days has been an emotionally draining experience. If one wonders why,then here is the story. The good looking actor, who plays the protagonist Vihaan in the show, is shown to be under a spell and his emotions are manoeuvred by someone else. For the same, he has been modulating his voice to portray the switch in his personality.
Ravish shared that Vihaan gets wicked, angry, cries, becomes helpless and then lovable, all within a fraction of seconds. So, he had to bring out the emotions in such a way that it looks real on screen rather than over-the-top or forced.
Interestingly, he reports a couple of hours prior to his call time on the sets and rehearses for the same in his room so that the switch in his voice and body language comes effortlessly to him during the shoot. He added that TV is a very dynamic medium with a very limited turnaround time to deliver a 30 minute episode daily and he doesn't like doing retakes and want to give a perfect shot in one take.
Recalling the first day he shot for the track, Ravish said that it was an eight-minute scene, by the time he gave all his shots and close-ups; it was very late in the night. He used to be emotionally drained in the beginning, but have got used to it now. On being asked if he took any reference for it, he said that as an actor he believes in adding his own improvisations and nuances so that it looks fresh and doesn't look like one has copied another artist.
