Reduce Collector Rate in Chandigarh:Chandigarh Traders Association

Chandigarh 26th October:- To discuss various agendas related to traders, an emergent meeting of Chandigarh Traders Association Sector 17 was held today. Kamaljit Singh Panchhi President of Chandigarh Traders Association Sector 17 and Advisor Chandigarh Beopar Mandal preside over the meeting. The meeting was attended nearly by all the executive members.

The members discuss and pointed out the market is facing recession since nearly 3 years and there is no buyer in the market as property prices are down by 30% to 40%. The genuine buyers of properties almost started shifting to neighbouring area as there is already wide gap in price of properties.

The Chandigarh Administration had increased collectorate rate in Chandigarh is unduly high as compare to market rates as well as collectroatein  tricity. The Punjab Govt. has reduced the collectorateupto 33%  intricity i.e. Mohali, Zirakpur, Derabassi  and Lalru. The Chandigarh Administration must reduce the collectorate rates in the interest of public; this will add revenue to the Exchequer. 

After the meeting a deputation of Association met Finance Secretary who is also Advisor to the Administrator now days and urge him to review the collectorate rates in Chandigarh and reduce the same before Diwali so that property transactions in Chandigarh takes place which otherwise are held up.

Kamaljit Singh Panchhi request the Finance Secretary, may kindly be consider this issue and give Diwali Gift to the public of Chandigarh from Administration side.
