Chandigarh 29th October:- Champions Tennis League (CTL) today announced the draft of the Indian juniors into CTL's six city teams. Junior Players Zeel Desai and Yugal Bansal to play for Punjab Marshalls in Champions Tennis League Season 2. At the forefront of inculcating a love for the sport, and promoting tennis at the grassroots level, CTL provides the juniors a lifetime opportunity to learn from tennis stars like Richard Krajicek, Martina Hingis, Marcos Baghdatis and Heather Watson to name a few.
Speaking on the announcement, Vijay Amritraj, Managing Director Second Serve Pvt. Ltd. and Chairman, Champions Tennis League said that our young players are going to be instrumental in building the future of tennis in India, and Champions Tennis League is very proud to associate with the best young juniors in the country. Twelve juniors are selected basis their national ranking and on recommendation by the All India Tennis Association. He is delighted that through CTL, we are able to give some of our more talented youngsters a unique experience that not only helps them succeed in their field, but also serves as an opportunity so that they may go on and represent India across the world.
CTL will see 13 matches played over a 2-week period. The teams will be structured into two zones, each having three teams, where all teams play each other in a home and away format. The team winning the highest number of games in their respective zone will play each other in the grand finale on December 6th 2015 to win prize money of Rs. 1 crore. The runner-up will win Rs. 50 lakhs.
